   I always dine at The Albany War room when seeing a concert at MVP Arena. They have a limited menu on those nights, but still something for everyone. Last night I had the shrimp and grits which was delicious. The sushi, made fresh, is also delicious. Highly recommend!

   We booked a table before seeing the Pentatonix Show at MVP Arena. The only available reservation for 4 people was at the counter. What a pleasant surprise! The counter is directly in front of the sushi bar, staffed by Saso and his assistant. He was fun, engaging and truly made the dinner one to remember. Our server, Paula, was also terrific. Three of us ordered the sushi dinner, which was an excellent choice. The only issue was order off the dinner menu for the person in our party who did not eat sushi. Her meal, an appetizer and salad, did not arrive until an hour after the rest of us had been served our miso soup and sushi. The sushi and food were excellent. The Albany War Room Tavern just needs to have better coordination between the sushi counter and the kitchen.

   My heart broke for our poor waitress. The place was out of chicken and lobster. And lychee liquor. Three things listed on the menu that they could not serve at 5pm on a Saturday night. Owner walked around scratching his head, not helping. Not once did he clear a dish or deliver a drink. Food we did get (4th choice) was very good, but every table was disappointed and the seating is on top of one another. Sorry. Won’t go back.

   They were very nice and efficient. The owner even offered me a drink. Had to turn down because I had to go back to work. Will definitely be back to sample Saso's sushi.

   Everything is just mediocre, and for one of the highest price points in the City, it should be great, but at least good. Just bar food.

   Food was okay, I think the price is not worth it for the omakase menu. We thought it would be more of an experience, and they kept forgetting the next item to bring. Cocktails are also not worth their value, I couldn’t finish mine. I was very excited for the experience, but was left very dissatisfied overall.

   The sushi is outstanding- fresh, delicious, and made with care. There are many great options for non- sushi eaters as well. Our group ordered the roasted eggplant and Kobe beef sliders which were cooked perfectly and so tasty.

   The sushi was fantastic. Edamame portion was small - sake menu could be more interesting - but let me repeat again, the sushi was excellent. Highly recommended. Also, very friendly waitress.

    Unfortunately they seemed over booked and understaffed with a large crowd in town for our concert. We had made a reservation and were eventually seated but couldn’t get anyone to take an order so after 30 minutes we left.
