Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Alder & Ash offers a "charming" retro mid-century vibe and a diverse menu with standout dishes like the "crispy crust" fried chicken sandwich and "spicy" toppings. While some diners noted wait issues, the attentive staff often shines. Ideal for those seeking "elevated flavors" and a "great ambiance" in a hotel setting.

It’s a beautiful location, and there was excellent service. The food was sub par compared to other similarly priced options. It is quite noisy so conversation can be difficult if you’re not ready to talk loudly.

Watery quarter sized scallops with a huge mound of lentils and no sauce or flavor what so ever for $50. Server came when we got there and didn’t see him again until we flagged him down for the check. Hostess appeared bored and rude and on the way to take us to our seats, stopped to chat with another host and we just stood there while they talked. Mediocre appetizer dip that tasted like grocery store hummus.

Great dips for appetizers, very average entree salads, cocktail was not good (had a $17 old fashioned that was so sweet I couldn't finish it), service was average. Prices were very high for what it was, we chose it mostly because it was close to the Paramount theater. Would go back for appetizers probably wouldn't do dinner again.

I was underwhelmed and disappointed by the food. Should have been top notch based on the past reviews and price. Would not recommend it.

Wasn’t impressed with the food. The vibe is good but truly was not worth the price.

This is the first time I’ve had to write a bad review. My soup was awful, just water with no flavor and I truly think it was a mistake. I would have sent it back but I already had to send my martini back! It was supposed to be “a little dirty” but it was mostly olive juice.

It was quite loud and the open tables were very close together. It was difficult to encourage my daughter (young adult) to converse because we were within 3 feet of the people on either side of us. In that regard, it felt a lot like a diner. However, the food was excellent. The steak was tender, cooked just as I like it, and the fries were so good my dining partner stole most of them! The salmon was cooked just right as well. The serving staff were attentive and always polite. They contributed to our appreciation of the meal. The quality of the meal means we will return when we're in Seattle again. But, we'll request a booth or a quieter spot next time.

It may have been an off night but this was a real disappointment. Buratta Beet salad seemed to be jarred beets, the short ribs were chewy, greasy and flavourless, the pumpkin spice olive oil cake was dry and hard - the bill for 2 was 215$ before tip. This was a prix fix menu for restaurant week

We had pre-theatre reservations for 5 pm. Left to wait in the bar until almost 5:30 without any explanation or acknowledgement. Bar staff was lovely, and we enjoyed absolutely spectacular espresso martinis. Oysters were delicious but served over large cubed ice which was not visually appealing, and lazy. NY strip steak was tender but without a drop of seasoning. Most of the problems were a result of what felt like a management team that simply didn’t care about the guest experience
