Named one of 20 Best New Restaurants in America for 2024 By Bon Appetit!

In a distant European city, Fabian and Miriam vanished into the Alps, trading their city lives for mountain solitude. Once busy young professionals, their days were consumed by demanding careers, their rare weekends cherished for dining out and dancing, occasionally venturing into the mountains.

But destiny intervened when Miriam inherited her grandfather's Alpine hut, nestled amidst the rustic charms of the mountains. They cut ties with the city, forsaking it for good. Days were spent farming, foraging, crafting cheese, and making wine. Nights brought cooking, baking, wine-drinking, and stargazing.

Friends from the city visited, but Fabian and Miriam never looked back. They were drawn deeper into the mountains, caught in the Alpenrausch's dual meaning—the exhilaration of mountain air and the intoxication of good company, fine wine, and schnapps.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience! We ordered cocktails and then tried out the tasting menu, which did not disappoint. Our server recommended a lovely young red wine. Everything was great!

The hostess wanted to seat us at a small table against a wall (so you would not be able to use one of your arms to eat...for me my dominant right arm,) Our reservation was early and there were plenty of other tables open. We had to push to be seated at another table which made for an unfortunate first impression. All other aspects of the service/dinner were really good. We had the fondue for two and it was ample and tasty. The mixed greens salad was very simple (nothing but lettuce) with a good vinaigrette. We would return to try other menu items. The ambiance is very cozy. There are a few parking spots in the small lot; we were lucky to snag one as parking along Division (which has become a Restaurant Row) can be challenging.

Service was inattentive and not very friendly or helpful. Too expensive for the overall value of the food and experience.

While the ambiance and the service were top notch, the food was very disappointing. I was looking forward to the pizzoccheri, but I couldn't finish them. The buckwheat pasta was hard and undercooked, also difficult to manage because it was in the shape of pappardelle instead of the classic short, flat shape. The cabbage was not cooked (it is usually cooked with the pasta) which resulted in hard pieces of it stuck in the cheese that did not melt well to create the customary creamy quality of this dish. The canederli lacked the broth that makes them soft, so they were very hard and didn't have much flavor. Drinks were good. I take an issue with the extra charge for health fees and the already applied 20% gratuity to our party of 5. I won't go back.

Agh, the Tirol, food made with familiar ingredients combined as the Swiss do from intoxicating mountain peaks. As I have Swiss ancestry I can say the food is frank, and precise even the food comes in peace indeed the coziness of knowing what is simple, say pickled celery. The air might be thin at the mountain top yet here it is sturdy like a mountaineer’s cane with a finish as bright as pears and smoky fish with your own milk pot bubbling with cheese. It’s calming it’s fun it’s a night out full cheer. I’ll budiono that.

The outdoor tables are like a downgraded version of the inside tables. The door slams every time someone comes in or out and they really need to cover the main entrance to keep heat in. Felt like we were forgotten a couple of times and straight up for the price - it’s not the same restaurant as the indoor version.

The service was good and the fondue was pretty good, was hoping for a larger portion since the menu said it would feed 2-3 people barely fed two.

It was a very cute interior, but portions were small and service was pretty bad. Slow and inattentive. Good flavor on what we had, but it just isn't worth the price. Also not a good sign they misspelled Spätzle, a signature dish, several times on their menu.
