This is a very quaint and authentic Italian restaurant with a sidewalk eating space, with great food, good wine and excellent service. The only challenge was parking but it was worth it. Get the gnocchi, it was out of this world.

Lovely, bustling Italian restaurant with delicious food and prompt, friendly, authentic Italian-speaking service. Great to take friends in town. The Tagliolini ai Funghi, lamb, and Osso Buco were fantastic.

Outstanding in every way! On a recommendation from our hotel concierge, we brought our family together here for dinner after a memorial. The team at Amarena went above and beyond in so many ways to make our dinner memorable. Every single entree for our big group was delicious, the service all night was impeccable, and the atmosphere warm and vibrant. A night we won’t forget. So lucky to have found this gem that is now “our place” in San Francisco.

Excellent food. The pasta (the one with prosciutto) was outstanding. Such a delicate flavorful sauce! We loved the veal as well. Will definitely be back :)

I've been here before so I know the service is usually on point, but for Valentine's Day, the kitchen may have been a bit overwhelmed. There were a few mistakes and long lags between our dishes. But the food is excellent, our server was very nice and overall it was a lovely evening.

Decent overall. The food was good, service was excellent. I feel like for restaurants like this, the price determines the evaluation. I wouldn't say its way too expensive or overpriced, especially in this town, but didn't feel like we got our money's worth. Service was as good as it could get, but I've gotten better quality food even here for $115 per person. Not to say it's bad, I do want to emphasize that it was pretty decent, but at this price range you have better options in the city even in restaurants that charge 80-90 per person.
