We have been to the Pacific Beach location and loved it. This time we went to Del Mar and again, fabulous evening. The Pacific Beach location is quieter, more conducive to sipping a glass of wine from the excellent wine menu while one waits for the order to arrive. The Del Mar location is snappier, lively but still quite manageable in terms of having a conversation at the table. In both locations the staff is one of the main reasons to come! Very knowledgeable, we appreciated that our wait person was well versed in the menu and pairings and provided great suggestions. Super friendly, honestly, we felt like family. My suggestion! if you go, go big! We had a dinner guest that wanted a salad, a vegan pizza. Then when the cannoli (developed by a michelin star chef) arrived at the table, he couldn't resist and asked to have his pizza boxed up and got the cannoli instead!! Happiness all around. We are eating the pizza now, for lunch the next day. The food is top notch and i know i speak with authority... my family is from Aqueseria, a small village on Lake Como, i know Italian food! This place is a stand out, not to be missed. thanks

Advertised as a romantic Valentine's place. Truly not. Food was overpriced on the special Valentine's menu. They were out of the wine that was our choice. Noise level was extreme. We were fortunate to have a booth. The wait staff was only marginally trained. They were efficient in how they were trained on how to wait on customers. This restaurant is fine for casual dining but it is not upscale or romantic.

We came here for an early Valentine's dinner. The seating options were less than desirable but wasn't a big deal given this is located in a food court. We got the filet mignon risotto and the mistaken margherita pizza. The pizza was cold upon arrival and the ratio of the filet to the risotto was ridiculous for $44. Both dishes were flavorless. For a place with supposed Michelin star chef recommendations, it was EXTREMELY disappointing. There are plenty of great Italian places anywhere else in San Diego, don't waste your money.

Great Vday prix fixe dinner! Ambiance is a bit noisy for a pricey dinner but love the energy at the Deck.

I've been here many times, and I always recommend it to my friends who come from out of town. The service is always impeccable, making us feel like we are having lunch at home. They updated the menu, today I tried the Canelloni, house made, it was simply perfect. Thanks you all !

Unnecessarily loud, although that’s the reality of Sky Deck’s restaurant area which is not within Ambrogio15’s control. The loud music is best suited for a dance floor venue. But, alas, there’s no dance floor. Glass Box notably installed glass walls which effectively dampens the volume, something which Ambrosio15 should explore. Despite the volume of the music, we have previously eaten at Ambrosio15 more than five times, beginning when it first opened, because the food, service and prices were very good. That has changed. The ambience: Although I made our reservation days earlier and the host recognized my wife and I from previous occasions dining there, he seated us in the worst booth- directly under two lights akin to those in department stores intended to ensure shoppers see the merchandise. We were bathed in light. The food: We first ordered a caprese salad which was flavorful and had a healthy sized buffalo mozzarella but only six thin slices of tomato and maybe six leaves of arugula in olive oil and seasoning. We then had the pasta puttanesca which was so so. Both dishes were overpriced for what they served. The service: I had to flag down another server to get Parmesan cheese because our server didn’t think to ask and was too impressed in conversation with his colleagues to notice my outreached arm waving to attract his attention. As he cleared our plates, with the flatware, we ordered a final dish of four meatballs baked in tomato sauce. When our server delivered the meatballs, he neglected to bring flatware which we realized moments after he departed. Again unable to attract his attention, I got another server to bring us flatware. The meatballs were minimally seasoned and the sauce was basic and unimaginative. I believe that sufficiently explains my rating and why it is unlikely that we will return.

Had a great experience with dinner and server. Split the beet salad and a veggie pizza with friend. Both delicious. The servers were wonderful too. Look forward to going back.
