   I want to absolutely love this place, and I want them to succeed, along with their brother restaurant Hobu. For now, I have to make the excuse that they’re working out the kinks coupled with notoriety of a Beard nomination. Issues include the fact that the menu is not online.  They have a robust breakfast menu, but it’s not to be found on the website unless I’m doing something incorrectly. it’s noisy, very loud with music turned up so much so that last night the server and one of my guests miscommunicated on the entrée and it wasn’t corrected I had a dish one evening that’s on the menu and when I disccusses it on a subsequent visit the server denied they ever had it on the menu even though it’s still there. I don’t think you’re supposed to argue with a customer anyway. especially one with a photo of the dish. Other than that, their sauces are exquisite, which is what it’s all about

   Food and margarita drink was delicious. We made reservations for 7:45 and didn’t get seated until 8:15. Service could be improved but overall good experience.

   Superb food - especially the quesabirria and shrimp tacos - and friendly, attentive service. Amelia’s was packed on the Saturday night we visited. The noise level was high but we were still able to converse comfortably.

   First visit and very enjoyable. Food was great. Good value and unbelievable flavors. Was disappointed with the margarita’s after reading an award winning review. Watered down and weak. Will be back but order beer.

   Have been to Amelia’s twice in past two weeks! The food is outstanding from chips and salsas, chili relleños, birria tacos and especially notable are the rice and beans because so often the rice and beans are mediocre at best- but not here! They are so delicious and a true accompaniment rather than just a plate filler. The service, though very pleasant, needs a bit of attention. It took several attempts to get the attention of the wait staff for a few of our needs. I’m giving the staff some grace for now because I think they have been slammed (exceptionally busy) since the nomination of a James Beard award. We had a reservation and still were seated at an obviously sticky table. I could see the stickiness before we even sat down. On our previous visit there was confusion over which staff member actually had our table. Subsequently we had no service at all until we finally got someone’s attention. Again, they were VERY busy. Hopefully these kinds of things will work themselves out as things settle down or they will just hire more servers. At any rate, these little details won’t keep me from returning. The food is fantastic!! Can’t wait to try their breakfasts!

   Cuisine and cocktails were terrific. Had chicken enchiladas, spinach tamales, and quesabirrias. All wonderful. The house margarita was a huge disappointment in flavor and little tequila. Tried their award-winning Carrizal margarita and it was award-worthy. Total with 22% tip was $88.00 Stephanie, our server, was cute, efficient and professional. Loudest restaurant we have ever experienced.

    Read online reviews and location led us to Amelia’s kitchen. We ate outside and enjoyed a quiet dinner with good service. However the beef in the Molcajeta Mixto we ordered was so tough it was inedible and the margaritas were just so-so, too sweet for our taste.
