Korean Tapas Restaurant. Inspired by traditional Korean cuisine...not traditional Korean cuisine.

The Korean word ‘Bansang’ refers to the style of table setting for the kings and nobles of the Joseon, a Korean dynastic kingdom that prospered for more than five centuries. At Bansang, we wish to serve all of our guests with the same care and sincerity as the chefs did for their royalty in those times past.

Korean fare is built around enjoying various distinctive types of dishes simultaneously rather than in separate courses, as this allows every person to experience continuously changing flavor combinations unique to Korean culture. Our guests can expect a modern, creative perspective on this traditional style of Korean cuisine.

Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Bansang offers a vibrant fusion of Korean and modern flavors, perfect for tapas-style sharing. Standout dishes include "uni scallop toast," "sun choke & truffle," and "kimchi fried rice." While some find portions small, many praise the "excellent service" and "creative dishes." Ideal for special occasions and group dining.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our dinner here. Each dish was balanced, delicious and just the right size. An interesting (in a positive way) selection of dishes here. Great experience.

The food was ok. There was nothing particularly great about it. We got the fried chicken, charred broccoli, kimchi fried rice, and the Galbi Marinated Steak. Everything was okay besides the steak which we didn’t like due to the extreme chewiness. For the price I will not be back.

So good! I had a reservation for my boyfriend and I and we showed up too early and was still seated right away. We had the delicious raspberry wine (highly recommend, so fun and different from what I’ve ever had before) and a light dinner of 1 small and 2 large tapas, along with the fig dessert. The food and service were excellent! My boyfriend immediately told his parents and wants to bring them next time to try new things!

The food was really good. And they gave me a special birthday dessert that made the evening more special. Will have to come back again.

There are some very good dishes and others that are just average. I believe more work is needed in the design of the main courses, as unlike the tapas, they are very traditional and not very bold. The pastries are overly sweet and lack balance.

Unbelievably unique and delicious food, great atmosphere and the service was impeccable. Pretty much hits on all cylinders and some of the most interesting dishes I've ever had.

The cod was fishy and all other dishes are tiny but pricey. Not a recommended place for Korean food

We booked this for our casual anniversary dinner and were disappointed. Dishes were flavorful but gave the nostalgia of a much more casually priced dining experience. The price point for the dishes were high so we were expecting some high end ingredients or innovation but sadly we were left disappointed with our nearly $200 meal for 2, especially our $58 steak that we ordered medium rare and came out like warm and mid well. We decided to skip dessert because of the experience.

Great tapas style of food. Yummy for sharing and sample lots of items. Oysters and uni toast were a hit. Highly recommend!!!
