   We have been to Banyan several times before but the quality of the food seemed to have declined over time. Everything we ordered was mediocre at best. Vegetable wontons were so bland as if they were coming from a cheep fast food store. The texture of the octopus was off and the sauce was like BBQ sauce, which was odd. The soba noodles were the worst. They had this peanut sauce covering them and you cant taste anything but this peanut sauce. It is a shame, we used to like this restaurant but it was a disappointment. Service was good though.

   Really great tapas style asian fusion. Loved the ahi tuna, crab rangoon, and curry chicken wings. The noodles were okay, but still good.

   One of my favorite restaurants in Boston! The bao buns are delicious and the S&P shrimp is a favorite.

   VERY SALTY. Everything else was amazing though. Great vibes (good decor, etc.), food was tasty and surprisingly less expensive than expected (went went during happy hour 4-6pm!). Only negative was all of the food, especially the squash, was quite salty. So salty I got a headache afterward. Cut down on the sodium and sauces and this would be a 10/10.

   I was so surprised and delighted with my experience at Banyan. I stated in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, without much expectation of “special treatment” without talking to our server. Upon checking in we were sat in a private corner, and two glasses of champagne were promptly delivered. We were treated to such a special night, and DELICIOUS food. Thank you to the staff at Banyan, we will sure to be back.

   I recently had the pleasure of dining at Banyan Bar + Refuge in Boston for the 2nd time , and I am beyond impressed! The moment you step in, the ambiance draws you in—a perfect mix of chic, warm, and inviting. The menu is nothing short of inspired. Each dish feels meticulously crafted with bold, exciting flavors that showcase a deep understanding of Asian-inspired cuisine with a creative twist. We started with the Pork Bao Buns, and they were phenomenal—soft, pillowy buns paired with tender, flavorful pork, perfectly seasoned and balanced. The Ahi Tuna on crispy Rice was another standout, with a delightful tang and just the right amount of spice that keeps you coming back for more. I was also thrilled with the whole fried fish; it was perfectly cooked, with a delicate, savory glaze that highlighted the fish beautifully. The cocktails were equally impressive. The bartenders have really put thought into each drink, and the unique combinations blew me away. I highly recommend the Lotus Blossom, which was refreshingly floral and paired well with our meal. The staff is another highlight, as they were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing, making the whole experience feel special. Overall, Banyan Bar + Refuge delivered on every level. The vibrant, creative flavors and the attention to detail in both food and atmosphere make it a standout in Boston’s dining scene. I’m already looking forward to my next visit and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience
