   In town for the night and dropped in here for lunch today. Server friendly, great variety of Wines, nice setting across from the water. Seafood platter was great and was the strawberry tiramisu , nice spin on the classic. Thanks for a nice lunch!

   Told on arrival we had 2 hours to be finished (arrived at 5.30pm). Meals were extremely rushed - as soon as entree was cleared our mains were served - not enough time to appreciate meals. Entrees were ordinary - mains were good. Service was hit and miss. Seriously can't believe we were charged for parmesan for our pasta dishes. Very noisy - more like a pizza bar atmosphere than a restaurant. Disappointing experience.

   We had a such a lovely time here. This place can essentially be what you want it to be. It’s great for a romantic evening, group dinner or even a pizza lunch with wine. The food was delicious and the wine we chose was also excellent. The staff were all really friendly whilst maintaining a level of professionalism which often creates that ‘finer dining’ experience. We will definitely be coming back here!

   We are locals to Hervey Bay and dine out regularly. This was our first time at Barrel and Vine and we will be back. Ordered seafood tower and mini desert platter. Oysters and prawns were fresh and plump. Salad was nice just wish there was a little more as my husband doesn’t usually eat the salad but he really liked it so I didn’t get much. Barramundi was tasty soft and tender and other fried food was also nice. Desert platter was a nice balance to share, the pastry roll was hard and tasted a bit stale so we didn’t eat that but the filling was lovely. Would order it all again and look forward to trying other things off the menu. Wait team were attentive and polite. Only negative is we were seated across from an airconditioner which was uncomfortable even after the wait team turned the shutters up. We would request not to be seated there again. Thank you for a beautiful meal.

   We had a fantastic birthday dinner that was only marred by the weirdly negative and rude behaviour of one staff member, who acted as though we had done her a grave injustice in a former life. Strangely we barely spoke to this person all night, other than to ask for some take away containers and to clear a few glasses. No issues with any of the other 4 staff who served us. Other than that odd exception, great service, excellent quality and incredibly timely arrival of fantastic food. Absolutely recommend, with the exception of one grumpy staff member.

    The waiters/waitresses were great and the lamb backstrap was cooked to perfection. Partner had the rustic seafood stew which was full of seafood and delicious. The red wine paired to the lamb made for a great meal. Will be back.
