    Since the new chef has arrived, Basso has become a vibrant part of downtown Chappaqua. The food is exceptional (tonight’s pan roasted cod special deserved 10 stars) and the service great. A lovely atmosphere too. Almost every table was full and the vibe was young and upbeat. Again, I will be thinking about that cod (served with warm red grapes, carrots and potatoes) for a while!

    Amazing food superbly fantastic! Treat your tastebuds to a sensual array of satisfaction! Everything I put in my mouth was sublime. The warm shrimp with truffle was the perfect start! I had the salmon it was the best I have had thus far. My husband had the octopus and of course I tasted it and it was tender and tasty uniquely flavored.. so good. I did not try his dinner.. the veal chop but he thought it was great and did not leave a crumb. For dessert I had the crem brûlée so satisfying. I would definitely recommend trying this location especially for a date night or special occasion.

    Lovely ambience. Excellent service. The wait staff is pleasant and very attentive. Each dish was better than the last. My husband and I shared the Caesar salad which was crispy and one of the best I’ve had in a restaurant in a while. I’m a very good fish cook and their Bronzino entree was cooked to perfection. I also love broccoli rabe and their’s was a delight to my palate. My husband had the chicken parmigiana with pasta and loved it. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée. While it was very good, I found the crème a bit heavy. I would have liked it to have been much lighter. Overall, we had a wonderful belated Valentine’s Day dinner.

    We don't usually do Valentine's Day dinner but we are longtime fans of Chef Peter Kelly's culinary skills, innovative menus, great cocktails, and fabulous service, and had been to Basso 56 before but have been wanting to try Chef Kelly's new location. So this seemed like a great excuse to check it and it did NOT disappoint. Great wine list, exciting cocktail menu, awesome service, and amazing and innovative menu but yet able to accommodate 2 dietary restrictions in our party of 4 without a problem or hesitation. And Chef Kelly made the rounds in the dining room twice during our meal and was as friendly and gracious as always. Sorry no pictures but everything was presented beautifully and absolutely delicious. Salads were fresh and light, grilled octopus was terrific, shrimp with truffle special appetizer was outstanding, branzino was cooked perfectly, all the pastas are made in-house and delicious, and while not on the menu, they made a cacio e pepe for one of our guests who had a dietary need and it was outstanding, especially since it was a very busy night. We will definitely be back soon!

    Smart move bringing chef Peter Kelly into Basso. He has a strong following and is a wizard in the kitchen! Valentines Day dinner was amazing!

    Peter Kelly is now the Chef at Basso 56. When you enter the beautifully appointed restaurant, you are greeted by a charming Maitre D. The menu has several new dishes. I ordered the veal on the specials’ menu and it was absolutely delicious! I can’t wait to go back to this wonderful restaurant.
