  • Good for special occasions
  • Neighborhood gem
  • Great for creative cocktails
Leisurely cafe by day, Bastia transforms to a Mediterranean restaurant by night and draws culinary inspiration from the sun-drenched islands of Corsica and Sardinia

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Tyler Akin

From the OpenTable editors: Acclaimed chef Tyler Akin is back with Bastia, his stylish Mediterranean restaurant inside Fishtown’s Anna & Bel hotel. Snag a seat at one of the green marble bar tops or at a cozy table by the fireplace to dig into seafood-forward dishes like sea urchin butter tartine paired with playful cocktails and riffs on classic aperitivi. Either way, the all-day cafe is made for lingering, just like his beloved and now-shuttered Res Ispa was.

OMG - this meal was outstanding! One of the best meals I have ever had! Our server guided us through the cryptic menu. We were 4 people so I was able to sample many dishes. This place deserves all the hype that it receives!

I ate at the bar with a friend and we had an amazing experience. The cocktails were creative and delicious, and everything we ate was fantastic. They had an incredible selection of high quality, delicious wine. The attention to detail in everything was really special. The building is so gorgeous, too. I will definitely be back!

Very nice restaurant but the food was just acceptable. The bread was excellent as was the apple appetizer. The rest of the appetizers and the main courses were merely okay, and not worth the price. The wines were much too expensive. Service was good but we will not be headed back soon.

Really beautiful space, and perfect ambiance for a relaxed Monday night dinner. Food was hit or miss, which we didn't expect for all the accolades the restaurant had received. Entrees were very greasy. Best dish was the salad - not a knock, it was a really really excellent salad.

great flavor in most dishes. some plates were too salty or bland, overall small servings. acoustics were not great, we could not hear each other talking despite the music not being loud and no one in the restaurant being particularly loud.

Unique but pricey, especially the drinks. $20 ea for an average old fashioned and dirty martini. Pastas and apps were good especially the scallop special they had. However, the Swordfish almost made my wife and father in law sick later that night. Duck was cooked super rare like raw fish and was also not blown away by flavor. Nice night out but not somewhere I’m itching to go again soon
