    2024

From the OpenTable editors: BCN Taste and Tradition is where you go for the ultimate Spanish fine-dining experience, thanks to Barcelona native and chef Luis Roger. In a charming 1920’s-style bungalow decked with art from Spanish artists like Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró, Roger impresses with artfully plated dishes like a suckling Ibérico pig and salt-cured cod with saffron mousseline. Stellar, all-Spanish wines and a deep gin and tonic list add to the transportative vibe at this MICHELIN-Starred Montrose gem.

Enjoyed the Valentine’s Day 3-course dinner for our anniversary. All courses were delicious! Lovely food based in Barcelona, Spain cuisine.

No kidding around- this is a fine dining experience. However- just a couple items stood out to us. The suckling pig was a bit gamey- different then our prior experiences with suckling pig and was not as pleasant as expected. The chocolate lava cake was also far too cocoa powder forward- and the liquid was a bit too watery rather than creamy. We had six dishes between us, and four were phenomenal. Two had some work required. All in all- I would definitely eat here again and would encourage others to celebrate special occasions here, but I would likely stick to some other items on the menu. The octopus was incredible, the potatoes divine, and the lamb chops were certainly among the best in Houston.

In a lovely Victorian house, the place is beautiful! Several art pieces by Picasso, Dali and Miro. Service is impeccable. Great wine list and specialty gin cocktails. However, food in my opinion is not at par for a Michelin star restaurant. Presentation was gorgeous, but taste was ok, which for the reputation and price point isn’t expected. I will say the jamón and patatas bravas are delicious. Entrees and desserts were “good”.

Reminded us of meals we had in Barcelona. The food and drinks were beautifully plated. Our waiter was fabulous and the chef came out to say hello to us. Special night for sure.

We decided to try BCN after seeing it featured on a local eats show. Additionally our son has eaten there before. We were seated at bar and had opportunity to watch the bartenders artfully make each drink. The food was delicious and unique. The phyllo with crème brûlée was soooo good We will go back.

I went to brunch with my family for my birthday and it was outstanding. Well deserving a Michelin star! The food was great. Scallops, artichokes, croquetas, black rice, chicken, burrata, churros, all amazing. The service was excellent. Nice live music (I am usually not a fan of having music at a restaurant, but it was not too loud and it was a good singer with a repertoire I liked). Congratulations to the team, we are surely coming back.

Unsure how this place received a Michelin star. We arrived promptly for a 7:30pm reservation, and we were not seated until 7:55pm- had to stand at the entrance for 25 minutes. The food was all fairly average, we were expecting a lot more from a restaurant of this caliber. The filet mignon was cooked very poorly. Honestly, I think the only thing I liked was the wine. Really disappointing.
