Beauty & Essex has an innovative design that starts in the restaurant’s entrance, a well-curated modern-day pawn shop replete with a saxophone, boom­box, quirky artifacts, vintage treasures, and an eclectic array of “one-off” pieces of jewelry. Continuing past the pawnshop, guests encounter a grand, circular staircase wrapped around a two-story custom chandelier, but only the adventurous will discover all that Beauty & Essex has to offer. With four distinct dining rooms (one private), two bars, a lounge, and a women’s bathroom complete with a salon including a luxurious sofa, and antique perfume bottles. The cuisine, much like the design, is intended to set a new course. Chef Chris Santos was one of the pioneers of the small, share plate dining trend that has swept the nation, and with the Beauty & Essex menu, he once again has created waves on the food scene.

    Beauty and Essex is wonderful with amazing service and ambiance. The food good as well a tad expensive but it is worth if you get one entree for the table and one shareable’s but one shareable works fine as well ! Nothing to complain about !

    The food was underwhelming and expensive. The music was 2013 top 40. Extremely disappointing for a Valentine’s date. We were rushed out after 90 minutes.

    Overall a great time - we waited almost and hour for a table when we had a reservation - that wasn’t ideal but once we got sat down it was a great experience. Food was stunning and delicious! The Sancerre wine was also amazing! Our server was very busy but efficient!

    Beauty and Essex is my favorite restaurant i love it! every single time I go they never miss, the food is good the drinks hit and the display of everything is beautiful. The food never takes long, and the music is always catchy, nothing boring. 10/10 every time.
