   In an area where finding a really good restaurant can be a sketchy proposition, Belles was a solid option. The location near Venice Beach is good, but obviously touristy. But the Tiki Bar vibe was totally awesome!! Great ambience and the food was very solid as well. We shared 2 apps and split a dinner and everything was delicious. Service could have been a little peppier, but hey, you're in CALI. We got a couple of Tiki cocktails which were awesome, and priced where you'd expect for a top notch Tiki Bar. One thing I'd warn anyone about are the wine pours. We got 3 glasses of wine priced at $17, and they were easily 1/2 of a standard wine glass pour. The glasses were small and the pours were even smaller. I regretted that we didn't send the small pours back (which I can honestly say I've never done) and requested a different drink. If you go the wine route, invest in a bottle. Bottle prices were high for the varietals available, but a much better value than the "by the glass" pours and pricing, which were basically (and I'm not going to pull any punches here) a complete rip off. As my wife said, "that wasn't a pour, it was more like 3 sips!"

   The ambiance and atmosphere are pretty nice. The burger was pretty good. Except for that, the rest was not good at all. The sushi was average at best (Sushi Stop is a little better than what they served us). Everything was very expensive for the quality of the food. The service was 2/5 stars. Overall, it is very disappointing for a place to call itself a “restaurant,” as in Los Angeles, you have bars and pubs with food and service at much higher levels. The waiter dared tell us that “it's a chef's restaurant” and described the food totally differently than what they actually served us. The server also did not fill our glasses with water. He just let the bottle stay on the table.

   Breakfast burrito was a delicious surprise. Bunch cocktails were yummy! Everyone was nice and the decor is totally “beachy cool!”

   Really enjoyed the Food. Ambience was very Buzzy if a bit dark inside. Might just have been where we were sitting. Staff friendly and attentive. Very good value for money. Will go back again

   The location and design of the restaurant was great, but the music was so loud it was hard to hold a conversation. We were originally sat in a very dark and loud corner of the restaurant near the kitchen, despite lots of open tables in better locations. We were moved to a better spot after asking the host, which was nice. The food was very yummy and service was accommodating and timely. Just wish the ambiance/seating was better.
