   Flexibly fitted us in an hour early. Plenty of nice food and drink, plus extra during and to go on request. Attentive service without being intrusive.

   The festive afternoon tea was lovely, the food was excellent. Every single food item of the afternoon tea was great. There was a piano player throughout which was also good. The only problem was the service throughout. There were two more mature servers who were fantastic and attentive but the younger girls weren’t great at all. One issue was the lack of service, we were offered initial drinks but were then left trying to gain attention from someone to get more. I struggled to enjoy the food as I couldn’t get anyone’s attention to get a drink. The young waitress then took away one of our plates half way through eating one of the sweets. We had to ask to keep another plate so one of our group could finish which felt very rushed (we’d been there less than an hour). I wanted to order some mulled wine to finish off the experience but was brought the bill and asked if I wanted the card machine so didn’t get this drink either. I then paid the bill for another young waitress to come over asking me to pay again. All in all, the food is exceptional, the service was variable. We had one lady who was fantastic but the others could do with further training.

   The whole tea service and afternoon tea menu were so good I struggle to choose which part was best! Excellent food and drink all around. Very relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. Service was perfect, not overly attended and someone was quickly available when needed. The Rwandan tea and Chinese White tea were a real pleasure. May be the best scones I've ever tasted - soft texture and not dry or crumbly at all. Not cheap but well worth it. Enjoyed the piano interpretations too.

   Afternoon tea in Betty’s Belmont Room - what a lovely way to spend Christmas Eve. Scrummy food, plentiful refills, relaxing piano playing and absolutely exceptional service from all staff but in particular from Anne who looked after us so well. Thank you everyone.

   Lovely festive afternoon tea at bettys - an oasis of calm out of the madness. Enjoyed the piano player playing Christmas tunes in the background. Good and coffee all great. Great with the kids too.

   Everything about our tea room experience in the Belmont room at Betty's York was amazing from our waitress Claire to the standard of the food. We will definitely be returning next Christmas Eve.

   The staff gave me a menu of Bettys shop and told me that they can help me to buy the goods in the menu，so I don't need to go to the stop. However，when I asked the staff to buy something at 18:10，the staff told me that the shop was closed. Nobody reminded me about it at all and close time of the shop is 18:00. I told the staff that I will leave York in the early morning of tomorrow，but seems that the staff didn’t try to help me although it is their fault，forgot to remind me to make order before the shop is closed. Actually when I checked out fm 2nd floor‘s tea room and went down to the shop （1st floor） at 18:30，I found that still had some clients in their team room at 1st floor that is next to the shop and also saw the shop staff inside the shop.

    An excellent experience that we enjoy when doing Christmas shopping in Harrogate or York. A bit pricey I'm afraid for more regular visits. I do understand that a lower price point would probably mean a reduction in the standards so we will continue to accept that this is a occasional treat.
