Big Bear Brewing Co. opened its doors in July of 1997. Our concept was based on serving fresh brewed beer with quality and creative food in a warm and friendly atmosphere. When we opened, brewpubs were expanding throughout the country. Since then, the brewpub concept has slowed, but not Big Bear. We like to think of our very loyal guests as family, and after 20 years that family continues to grow. We have a strong foundation in this community and are very proud of that achievement. Behind the scenes of any successful restaurant is a devoted staff… we have many who have been with us since the beginning. Consistency breeds success and for that we thank our crew.

    The food was outstanding as always. Service was non-existent. The waitress visited our table solely to take our order and deliver the check. I had to flag down other servers to get drink refills.

    Arrived a bit early for our 4:45 pm reservation, but we were promptly seated. Our waiter Gabe was attentive and service was good. We ordered the prime rib, which came at the temperature we ordered, sides and dessert were also outstanding. Even though I mentioned at the time of reservation that it was our anniversary, no mention at the restaurant was made by anyone. Would have expected some sort of acknowledgement.

    Have been to Big Bear many times but this time it was so disappointing. Service was very slow and server seemed uninterested. Food was mediocre. Took my grandson for his birthday and was told they don’t offer any treats for birthdays any longer. Nevertheless I won’t be back.

    We really enjoyed this restaurant. My husband, daughter and I all had different meals. I, being a vegan had 3 possible options, so that was a plus right there. I opted for the veggie burger with sweet potato fries. Both were excellent! My husband had a regular burger and white fries, which he really enjoyed. Our daughter had a skirt steak with potatoes and fried onion rings. All meals were excellent. The only downside was that we were in a booth near the bar which was extremely noisy. I had to yell to speak to my daughter across the booth. Other than that, our server was excellent and so was the food.

    The salmon was significantly overcooked. My skirt steak was very tough and chewy. I am gluten-free in the first salad. They brought me had croutons with there quite a bit and this was the disappointing meal.

    Food is very tasty and great presentation. The service everyone very attentive and fast yet quality service. Love the decor of this place.
