There are ninety-nine different ways to write “sushi” in the Japanese script of kanji. Each with its own unique interpretation and meaning. It was with great deliberation that our founder, Billy, chose 寿司 to best represent his personal interpretation of the word - Celebration of Fish!

That’s exactly how Billy feels about the art of making sushi and the atmosphere that surrounds it - it should be a celebration! Which is why Billy Sushi is more than just a restaurant, it is an experience for anyone who allows themselves to take part.

A three-ring performance of sorts - sushi bar, sake bar and dining room - brought to life by the performances of sushi chefs, bartenders and servers. And the Ring Master and your host, Billy.

From the OpenTable editors: Creative rolls like the uncultured swan with shrimp tempura and unagi sauce set the stage for a rollicking time at this always-busy North Loop hotspot. Chef and owner Enkhbileg “Billy” Tserenbat has been cooking in the Twin Cities for more than 20 years and often checks in on tables himself, so don't feel shy asking him for menu recs. Settle into one of several sleek tables, choose a drink from the extensive sake and whisky selection, and be prepared to have one of the best nights out.

    One of the best sushi experiences in my life. Everything was unbelievable. Service was awesome. Atmosphere great and the food is just amazing. Great establishment!!!

    Food was delicious, as always, as was the service. Only tiny complaint would be: we were sat by the windows at the front, underneath the air conditioning vents, and a large piece of what can only be described as dead skin and dust fell down from the vents and onto our table. They are up super high in the air, and would be a pain in the neck to clean, but for a $100+ per person dining experience, you kind of don’t expect that kind of thing. Still 8/10 overall and would recommend to everyone who loves sushi.

    If you’re looking for good quality sushi this is the place to go. Yes it’s higher price but truly the statement “you get what you pay for” applies. We got to sit at the sushi bar and chat with the executive chef which was so helpful when deciding what we should try plus just made the entire experience a little more personable. Got some saki and wow was that amazing! Our server was the perfect blend of attentive but not over bearing, also very helpful as it was our first time going to Billy’s so they helped guide our palettes! This will not be the last time we go.
