   Reservation for brunch. First visit. Attractive bar area. Waiter greeted us and brought water then disappeared. We were first seated and it took over 30 min.to place our order and be served our wine. Food good, fresh. Two entrees came out cold and returned to kitchen. The Manager friendly and very quick to respond. Food good enough that we would try again.

   This was a beautiful train ride that derailed into a dystopic horror where I wondered where the conductor went. We had a young waitress in training who was followed around by an older waiter who read us specials off a board. Cute. Drinks were fast, endive salad and escargots were tasty. Steak frites - we saw another table get theirs. Then another. I asked and our waitress said it would be out in 1-2. Turned into 15. More steak frites - at least 4 or 5 - passed us by. I flagged the head waiter. No response. Finally our waitress came by. She became defensive when I asked if the order had been placed; she claimed she was not going to “take one for the kitchen” and gushed about how they were short staffed. Ok - I just wanted to know how much longer. Steak finally came, unsliced. Pooled blood when I cut into it as it had not rested. Come on - for a $62 steak? Waitress finally comped our dessert. Whoever is the head waiter just stared as the patron next to us tried to squeeze in and out between our tiny tables. No help there. After they left, the busboys came and kept the tables the same distance. The next party complained getting in. At the bar, two professional photographers photographed food. Seemed liked an odd pretense when diners were outside with the rain. Beautiful space and tasty food (when it arrives) but way too awkward for us to bother going back unless it does a 180 with the service. Maybe it’ll suffice for tourists but hard to see sophisticated diners with plenty of options in SF appeased.

   From the arrival to our conclusion of the evening the service by Courtney was impeccable. We started with appetizers which consisted of the escargot, oysters, and salad. All quite delicious. We ordered bread to dip into the garlic sauce from the escargot a recommendation. Entrees consisted of delicious chicken and three entrees of sole mangiere over a bed of spinach. We had to have the truffle frees tow orders again delicious! The wine of Sauvignon blanc was delicious Desserts were two orders of pot de creme with butterscotch Great find for our first time eating here!

   Unfortunately our table wasn’t ready and we had to wait 20’ even though we reserved for our anniversary dinner. The noise level is high, doesn’t make any sense to top it off with incredible loud music. The food was overall very good, too bad the service was erratic.

   The drinks came out very, very slow. The place wasn’t too packed and no line outside but they still passive aggressively were trying to push us out after 2 hours even after ordering more food and drinks. Food and drinks tasted amazing. The service not the best, needs work.

    The overall experience at Bon Délire was mediocre. Despite having a reservation, we waited over 20 minutes for our table. I had to personally inquire about being seated, as I was accompanied by two elderly guests who were left standing. The front hostess staff was dismissive and did not offer any viable solutions, while the manager showed little urgency in resolving the situation. Once seated, our waiter provided excellent service. However, the timing of our meal service was inconsistent—some entrées arrived first, while others took an additional 10 minutes to be served. Given these issues, I would be unlikely to return and cannot recommend this restaurant to others.
