   We we staying in the hotel with friends so we had dinner in the evening, the restaurant wasn’t busy at all and the bread we ordered to start took ages to arrive, then my friend’s chilli quid was still frozen in the middle so had to be sent back, they brought her another one which was fine. Then we had breakfast booked for the next day, when we arrived it wasn’t that busy but there were loads of tables full up with dirty plates waiting to be cleared so we were asked to wait in the lobby, ten minutes passed and we were still waiting so I asked when our table would be ready and I was told when it was ready he would come and get us! After 15 minutes we were seated, the breakfast took a while to arrive and we saw one couple walk out and say cancel our breakfast please as they had been waiting too long. My friend ordered the full English and when they brought it out she said I’m sorry we have no mushrooms or black pudding would you like any extras? The plate was half empty and this should have been told to my friend when she ordered not when it was brought to the table, so she asked for toast but by the time it arrived she had nearly eaten her breakfast. There were quite a few waiting staff I noticed at least 6 and tables were dirty, people walking out, so I’m not sure what went wrong that day! Our breakfast actually was really nice but the service is appalling and for this reason we would not return .

   The Brasserie menu offered a wide choice of freshly prepared dishes with all tastes available, service was excellent and freindly

   We visited Abode after going to the Marlowe theatre we had starters which were delicious then the steak for two two of the pieces were cooked as requested but the third was over cooked and was a little dry. The service was good.

   It was a Tuesday night, so not a busy night. Staff were attentive and not overbearing. food was gorgeous. Wine was expensive. Would book again

   We enjoyed eating in the Champagne Bar, which has a nice view out to the high street. The table as quite small but as we were eating the small plates there wasn't a problem. We asked the staff to turn the music down, which they did.

   From the start the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating, helpful and friendly. We went for afternoon tea in the brasserie. Atmosphere was really cosy and relaxed, again we were so well taken care of. Food was amazing, a full gluten free option was provided. Wow Absolute must for anyone but especially if you're gluten free

    previously stayed at the hotel sometime ago and enjoyed the feel of it… didn’t dine there at the time but though i’d like to go back for a meal at some point…. 8pm booking, very quie, one couple in the dining room and was offed to eat in the bar, smaller and more cosy… biggest disappointment was the menu, the same as the dining room, it was a small tapas style menu i guess, no meat and two veg offerings other than a stake… disappointed.
