We didn't have food here, just a wine tasting. (Didn't have the choice to leave rating blank). Wines were OK from the standard tasting, though we were only considering buying one of them to balance the cost of the tasting. The server was not very knowledgeable...or just couldn't articulate. It started with her giving us the wrong tasting sheet, then taking it away but not bringing us the right one. She didn't talk to us much about the wine and didn't come back to our table unless we waved her down. We asked about the difference between vintages of one of the red wines (because the one we were drinking was different than the one on the tasting sheet), and she said they taste the same. We asked questions about wines not on the tasting thinking we might like something else a little better (to buy). An example Q&A: What's the Corrida (Tempranillo) like? What would your tasting notes be? She answered, "It tastes like tempranillo. It's delicious." Not at all helpful. We had high hopes for this tasting among the few we did and were sorely disappointed. Maybe good wines, but we couldn't tell.

We were very disappointed in our experience at Brian Carter. It was our first visit there and we were really looking forward to it. We have visited many wineries in Woodinville, Walla Walla, many regions of CA, and Italy. We are members of 5 wine clubs, 2 in CA and 3 in WA. My husband and I both agreed, that this was one of our most disappointing experiences in wine tasting. We arrived at Brian Carter on a rainy afternoon at about 4:05 (4:00 reservation) and were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We chose outside because no one was indoors. The table was ok. Our first server gave us the QR code sheets and said to check out the different tasting options (she said one was a variety and one was all reds. That was the only description). She came back and asked what we had chosen. We chose the basic $20 wine tasting with a white, a rose, and 3 reds. First, we were surprised that there was not a "welcome" taste prior to the sampling. Each winery we have visited in the last year (about 24 wineries) has given us a sample of something (sparkling, rose or something seasonal) as soon as we sat down. Not here. After we ordered she returned about 5 minutes later with the rack of samples. We tasted all the wines and of the 5 samples, there were only 3 that we liked. My husband didn't really like any of the wines he tasted (which is very rare for him), but thought the rose was the best of the bunch. Being that we ALWAYS buy something we bought one rose and one Le Coursier. Halfway through our tasting at 3:45, a different employee came out and said that we had 15 minutes to finish our tasting because we had to leave by 5:00. We have NEVER had anyone at ANY winery EVER act like that. She then returned with our bill and wine purchase and said she was sorry to have to ask us to leave (there were 2 other tables occupied and they were also told to "drink up"), but she hoped we would come back. We just smiled and said a sheepish thankyou and left. We will not be returning.

The nicest thing was their flexibility to let us bring our dog for an outdoor tasting. But they were also gracious about the rest of our party arriving late, and not rushing us through our tasting - a beautiful job hosting us! And the wine blends were amazing - both whites and reds are creatively blended and were very tasty. And we could see Mt Rainier!

The worker basically kicked us out 7 minutes before closing time because she didn’t want to have to come back to our table to pull the umbrella down. This was a really poor experience after just spending over $260 on wine. Will not visit again.
