Bryggjan Brewery is an independent brewery, bistro, and bar at Grandagarður 8, by the Reykjavik harbor. Our ambition lies in producing and offering a large variety of food and drinks made from quality ingredients.

Our bar has 12 draft beer pumps that deliver fresh craft beer directly from the brewery. We also have a unique wine cabinet that keeps our rich wine collection at a perfect temperature.

    Came for New Year’s Eve brunch. Nice atmosphere, good location, attentive service. Good variety of traditional-inspired Icelandic dishes. Very expensive though, even by local standards.

    The beer tasting tour was the highlight of our visit. Guide was knowledgeable and took his time. Food was mediocre but service was good.

    Cool place with arguable value for money. What started as a great concept - craft beer with food- is now for the fashionable masses. The location is really great, the food is mediocre and to Icelandic standards pricey. People are friendly, but be prepared to wait a while.

    We went with a group of 22 people and we WERE EXPECTED. It took forever to get service. Then they sent kids that must have been on their first night working and had no clue of the drink menu. Some liquor on their menu was not available because THEY DID NOT CARRY IT. Food was inconsistent....lamb at different levels of cooking temperature...food came out sporadically.....just a poor showing for a restaurant that was expecting a large group. There were OTHER large groups that experienced the same service level. The noise level was over the top and you had to SCREAM at each other to communicate. I/we will not go back to this place if we go back to Iceland.

    Really lovely atmosphere, service was good. Little pricey for what it was, the food we ordered was lovely but did think it was expendivevfirvwhat you got

    Very nice food!!!! A bit cold inside but a very warm service. You abseloutly must taste the house made beers!

    We went on New Year's day. The restaurant is a little out of town and when we entered, they told us there was a 30% surcharge. This is was not told to us at the time of the reservation as we could have made alternate plans. Unfortunately, we were stuck here as there isn't anything else nearby and they were able to add-on the additional 30%. The food is decent and the service fair, but the lack of prior knowledge of the surcharge left a sour after-taste with the dining experience.
