   Overall an enjoyable meal but small improvements would increase the stars. The initial champagne was not properly chilled and vegetables were warm rather than hot.

   Lunch was beautifully presented on all 3 courses. However, despite informing team prior to booking & on arrival that No Fish for both of us, amuse bouche came with cods roe. Roast Beef was delightful but the gravy very watery Ordered pancetta for dessert & was served Rhubarb selection - very tasty but not what I had ordered. Maybe team need to listen to customer more!

   Beautiful setting in this very old hotel. We had Afternoon Tea sat on a large squidgy sofa in front of the huge fireplace. The service was excellent. The food is excellent. The only disappointment is that the amount of food has been reduced, I suspect to negate a price rise. Previously we have had a hot savoury, more sandwiches, and a posset. These were sadly missing. Overa;;, good food, excellent service, and a beautiful setting.

   I have had an afternoon tea at Buckland Manor several times to treat my friends visiting the UK from Japan. I always take my friends who would like to experience traditional and authentic afternoon tea to Buckland Manor, as they offer very high level of services at the great and English traditional atmosphere. Buckland Manor also has a beautiful garden where guests can explore. So it would be even better if you visit them when all flowers, especially wisteria, are in their blossom.

   Pleasant dining experience, marred slightly by long wait for the reserved table, resulting in us dining alone by the end. Answered booking question regarding special occasion, it being my partner’s birthday, but there was no evidence that this mattered a jot to the hotel.

   Food was absolutely delicious, ambience is so peaceful and content. Really would recommend and great value for money for three courses each at such a high standard.

   Our coats were kindly taken at reception and we were ushered into the lounge where I had ample time to peruse the extensive wine list accompanied by some lovely peppery crackers. On being ushered to our table I was pleased to have been offered without request, what I considered to be the best table being by the window at one end with no chatter behind me, enabling the hearing of my partner. There on the table waiting was a decanter containing my wine selection so I very much appreciated the time I'd waited in the lounge had been used to properly decant and prepare the wine at optimum temperature. From the pre-starter amuse-bouche to the final petits fours the meal was exquisite. Extremely smooth, delicate & very tasty.

    Very disappointing! Made a reservation back in December for a January lunch in the restaurant. Received a phone call prior to our visit to inform me that the restaurant would be closed and it would be food served in the lounge area! I was not impressed and reiterated that I had booked the restaurant! On arrival the hotel was pretty deserted; we were asked if we wanted the restaurant which we did. My guest heard the chef swear in the public area! The lunch was expensive and average quality. Will not be revisiting!
