The Buddha-Bar Restaurant New York City, is ideally located within the industrial-turned-lifestyle heart of New York’s TriBeCa neighborhood. Summer 2021 brings the return of a $1 million, custom, 16-foot, glass-hewn Buddha sculpture, music, and energy from the resident DJ, globally-inspired Asian Fusion cuisine, and the famed vibe of Buddha-Bar to New York City.

The prices are excessive, very high, so the food doesn’t cost it

Had a good experience, other than being told there was no coffee/cappuccino because the machine was broken. Would’ve liked to stay and enjoy the ambience longer and have coffee and was unable to.

That restaurant is only expensive. I had a reservation at 8:30 for 2 and we had to wait 1.30h to get a table, I would’ve understand if it were only 15/20 minutes but if the people have a reservation that shouldn’t happen. The woman’s bathroom were disgusting, super antigenic and they only have one small roller paper for seven bathrooms. The food and ambience was good.

Was excited to try this throwback place. Haven’t been in 15 years. It was one of the worst NYC restaurants I’ve been to. The check-in process was completely chaotic. We were promptly told to check our coats and get a drink at the bar. The hostess was hostile and rude. When we got to the bar, we could not order despite waiting for 10 minutes while the staff talked to each other. I returned to the host station, asking to be seated and the manager Courtney pointed to the floor and said “stand there.” It was like he was ordering a dog to sit. Totally unacceptable and humiliating. When we finally got seated, the menus were thrown on the table and we were told that the order must be placed all at once. Very hard to do with this type of food. Just to be clear, I would expect sloppy service like this from a low end chain restaurant but be prepared to pay $250 for a steak and $120 for a trio of sushi. We had an appetizer and left to go down the block to a better place. Highly do not recommend. It’s not the place it used to be. It’s a tourist trap!!

Right from when you walk in you feel like you're in a tourist trap. Front of house was not welcoming at all. No hello, not one of the 3 offered information as to where/if there was a coat check. So with coats in hand we head to a table of 4, we were a part of 5 and when we asked to be seated at a table for 5 the front of house gentleman seemed upset by that reasonable request. Once seated we were sesrved water quickly, but no one stopped before a drink order. And there was only about 5 tables when we arrived for our early side reservation. Server was fine, recommended every over priced dish on the menu (and there are a lot of them). They seem in a rush to clear your table as you are still eating (and we eat fast). Food is average at best. Nothing unique about it. Tao and Buddahkan are light years better if you are looking for this type of food. As for their Crispy Rice, SugarFish blows this place away. I'm sure tourist will fall for the decor and photo op with their large Buddha, but as someone who lives in the neighborhood and was looking forward to trying it, my family and I agree that we won't be back.

Food and ambience were excellent. Beautiful setting. But we were seated almost one hour later than our booking which was disappointing.

Incredibly expensive with absolutely no service. This place is a hollow shell of what it advertises to be. Go to Buddakan or Tao you’ll have a better experience. We couldn’t get water refills. We purchased a bottle of wine and served ourselves the entire bottle. I had to physically get up and find the waiter or ask someone else to find them multiple times. At one point we were trapped in the restaurant just trying to leave. Unbelievably huge let down of an experience. Added an auto gratuity on for a table of 5 to completely ruin the night. Go at your own risk.
