   The service was quite slow, and please note that if you want to bring a birthday cake, they will charge you $3/person to cut and serve it, without mentioning it. that is after we asked the staff if they’d like to keep half of the $25 cake to share amongst the people working, and they said yes, that would be great. It feels like one or the other to me. Keep the cake and waive the fee, or say no thanks and return the cake. We had to request them to waive the fee then sit there and listen to them tell us why they won’t waive the fee in the future.

   I have had many wonderful meals at Carmella’s! Last night was a bit uneven. Excellent appetizers-Wagu meatballs-yummy! Excellent Caesar salads w fresh shaved Parmesan cheese. Rounded off with red pepper hummus w perfect crostini & veg. Just the right combo to start our meal. Excellent service. Our waiter was quick, very well informed on the menu, & did a great job. On to the uneven. The chicken pot pie? The taste was good. The presentation needs some tweaking. Not sure why there were very large pasta in place of the potatoes you’d expect to find. Topped with a couple pieces of puff pastry.My companion set it back. Sadly two of us decided to order the flank steak. When brought to the table-sliced (too thickly), I immediately noticed it had been cut WITH the grain, instead of of cut thin against the grain,making it impossible to eat. Flank steak can be very tasty, but not cooked past medium and thinly sliced against the grain.We sent them back. Came back with some sort of pepper rub of sauce on it, and clearly plated on the plates we had sent back in the first place, not freshly plated. Pork schnitzel? Meh. Overcooked and the side of spatzel? Not good. I would suggest adding a really great & really simply prepared, organic, crispy roast half chicken. Maybe a lemony sauce served in a little pitcher on the side. This was disappointing since I had chosen Carmella’s based on past excellent experiences!What happened next is the reason I will absolutely go back and you should go, too! The boss herself, Carmella, stopped by to check on our table. We shared what had happened and she handled it like an absolute PRO! Meals were replaced. She checked in several more times. Listened to us, and took care of us. Sent us complimentary desserts-fresh backed chocolate chip cookies served warm with ice cold vanilla ice cream! Sooo good! In addition, took unsatisfactory items off the bill & gave us gift cards to come back & use. Thank you Carmella! You were awesome & we’ll be back!! TY!

   Carmella's is the perfect set-up for a night out. The front (bar area) has seating along bar and several high tops where you can eat and enjoy the live music which is always fabulous! The vibe out front is jazz club, good energy feel! If you need to catch up with friends or were planning on great conversation- I suggest you make reservations in advance for the dining area, which has a very cool vibe. Central enclosed fireplace and low lighting- some fun wall decor (you'll have to see that yourself) You can still appreciate the music coming from bar but it won't hamper your conversations. The service is great, waitstaff attentive not disruptive and they really know the menu for suggestions. My group loves a good cocktail... if you love bourbon, scotch, all the wonderfully aged bottles that are hard to find- look at the spirits menu in advance because you will be stunned by the selection! The cocktails are SO good! The menu has a lot to choose from, which is rare post-covid (so many menus are downsized now) so you will find something for everyone. Yummy! Carmella herself will likely be there to grace you with her beautiful self:) She is a gem! Glad we found her!

   Cozy environment, great friendly service, impressive bourbon and scotch selection. Difficult menu for someone on a Mediterranean diet, but that's not their fault. A little more diversity in the menu would be good though.

   Tabatha is amazing and the cocktails are stellar. We had the hush puppies for the first time tonight and they rocked! Nashville aioli for the win!

   Food was underwhelming. Drinks were good. Atmosphere is great. There was a shard of metal in one of our dishes, the restaurant comped that meal.

    A neighborhood favorite that always delivers. We prefer it to other places that can be really noisy. The high tops are cozy, the service is great, and the food is excellent. Also, they have an extensive collection of tequila, bourbon, and scotch.
