Casa Vega, in Sherman Oaks, opened its doors in 1956 and has been serving the people of Southern California ever since. Local residents, and even celebrities, have flocked to the family-run Mexican restaurant currently run by Christy Vega Fowler, daughter of original owner, Rafael Vega. While the decor is modern, the menu still reflects traditional Mexican menu staples. The extensive menu allows for every person to find something to enjoy. Homemade house guacamole, or one of the many soup or salad options, make for a great starter. The entree options are plentiful. Casa Vega serves everything from traditional chicken mole, a plethora of burrito options, combination plates and specialty options, such as carne chile Colorade and the signature Casa Vega molcajete. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available. Top off your meal at Casa Vega with a delicious house margarita or mojito.

A magical Christmas experience! Service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Every single thing we ate tasted fresh and homemade, which is unheard of these days. And everyone was so kind to us. As first time parents with our four month old in tow, it meant the world!

Love Casa Vega. Especially at Christmas. They’re decorated so festively. The service is good. So is the food. It’s a classic L.A. institution!

They sat us outside in <60 weather. When we asked why we were being sat outside despite having N 8pm reservation, they said we could wait til 10pm to sit inside. They didn’t have enough heat lamps

This is a fun experience (especially when the decorate the restaurant for Christmas). It’s a classic 1950s Mexican place with nice service, a historic Hollywood atmosphere, and fun drinks. It serves a very fun purpose! However, this place is not where you should go if you want the “best” Mexican food in LA. The food isn’t very spicy or authentic. That being said, it’s a great time!

Casa Vega was delicious as usual. Very festive ambience. They said they don’t have the holiday menu items until Christmas Eve so just a heads up!

Service was not that good. Got wrong food order, drinks came about 20 minutes after ordered so we just canceled the drinks.

For such a famous and renowned establishment, such a disappointment. We waited 35 minutes to be served, and had to ask passing waiters twice to get any attention while watching the tables around us (who were sat after us) already order and get their food. The food was incredibly basic and unsatisfying and the drinks were very weak. The ambiance was beautiful but I could not believe how disappointing the service was

Outrageously overpriced Mexican food and cocktails in a retro immersive environment.
