   Excellent relaxed escape to France for an hour in the always reliable Chez Max. Food was authentically French — Onion soup, croque monsieur, meguez sausages, Cote du Rhone wine — all great and exactly what it promises. Dublin has fewer and fewer of these mid priced gems. A real Christmas venue — warm, inviting and other worldy.

   My favourite restaurant in the city, never disappoints. Food and service are superb. It is so delightfully French you could easily be transported to Paris. Highly highly recommend.

   Lovely intimate French restaurant beside Dublin castle. Food fantastic. Atmosphere very local Parisian corner bistro feel. Service slightly hit and miss but that’s part of the charm.

   Possibly the nicest restaurant I have eaten at in Dublin City in a long time, passed by this place so many times over the years and never had the opportunity to eat there until last night. Great value Set Dinner menu with plenty of choice, excellent portion sizes and the flavours were perfectly balanced, excellent wine selection, and amazing attentive staff. Such a cosy and welcoming atmosphere too even on the heated terrace I think this just added to our experience Cannot wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.

   Lovely French food and very reasonably priced. Sat outside on the terrace and it was a bit cold because of the winds but they had heat lamps.

    Chez max was very busy on Saturday afternoon, we got fast service and felt pressure to eat up and move on, we were also told so that they needed our table back for five ! a table of 6 beside us were there before us and after us and didn’t seem to be under any pressure to move on..

    Hi Jackie, merci for your feedback. We’re surprised, as when we asked your party at the end, you mentioned everything was delicious and fine. Our timeframes are outlined on all booking platforms and our website, especially during a busy December. Regarding the other table, they arrived well before their reservation, which gave them more time. Your party also arrived early and had 2 hours for lunch, beyond the usual 1 hour 30 minutes. We do strive to accommodate all guests, and we hope this clears up any confusion. Merci again for sharing your thoughts!
