   I took family members to C M for Christmas Eve dinner. As always Oliver excelled in food and wine ambassador. His knowledge and style are top notch. Roland came over and spoke with the table occupants making it a truly enjoyable evening. Every time we go to C M, and it's close to 40 now it's an amazing experience in excellence.

   We had the best time celebrating my 30th birthday here. Absolutely amazing food! The Sole de Douvres was superb, and the owner of the restaurant deboned the fish next to our table. Green beans were our favorite side. Our waiter, Roland, was awesome and has been at Chez Max for over 20 years.

   Everything was awesome except for the 8 year old girl with the propped-up 11" iPad with Bose headphones set up at the table next to us. The "tech set-up" next to us was distracting, atrocious and unbelievable. Other than that, it was lovely to see well dressed people, enjoying conversations without cell phones...and we did enjoy our food and service.

   Ladies night out… 8 of us went for dinner… I was disappointed… for the pricing… I expected it to be over the top… the food was mediocre at best.  My friends fish was rubbery… she sent it back and ordered the pork chop… A gentleman came out and said, “you didn’t like our fish, I don’t think you’re going to like our pork chop”. He made no other suggestion… it made us feel as though he was refusing her a meal. He was RUDE! She was so embarrassed and I felt absolutely horrible for her. I was charged $49 for a piece of venison tenderloin… it was tender and flavorful but it was cold … $10 for a pitiful salad… I was NOT impressed… I will not go back!

   We all had seafood choices - tuna tartare is always outstanding, cod perfectly prepared, salmon entree with crab also delicious. Server was Oliver, who was just the right amount of attentive. We really had an excellent evening. It was very busy but we never felt rushed and it wasn't noisy. Will be going back soon!

   When visiting Richmond we try to get a reservation at Chez Max because it’s a guaranteed home run. It never disappoints

   We had another fabulous dinner at chez max. The restaurant has been a favorite for years! Food delicious. Service by Oliver excellent. Highly recommend!

    Or server, Roland, was amazing! He was knowledgable, friendly and very attentive to our needs. We have been to Chez Max before and have always enjoyed ourselves, but this time was absolutely superb! We brought friends that had never been and they were very impressed with the food and service, and we all plan to be back soon! Thank you for a wonderful experience again!
