Chez Omar is a nouveau Caribbean restaurant. Chef Omar is inspired by his Jamaican roots and Caribbean travels. This location comes as a second iteration of Omar's Kitchen and Rum Bar in NYC's Lower East Side.

Chef Omar's initial interest in Jamaica’s native fruits and vegetables led to an all-out exploration of a culture that blends a Caribbean twang with an urban New York twist.

He grows in his style by experimenting with these cultural blending techniques for friends and family, even dabbling in new ways to curate vegan Caribbean dishes.

One of the best new restaurants in West Village and shocked more people haven’t found it hidden along the west side highway. Authentic Caribbean food and vibes- what a fun evening! The service is always amazing and the lamb, oxtail, and croquettes are must tries! Reasonably priced extensive wine list too. Highly Highly Highly recommend.

meal was somewhat inconsistent - fish dishes were good, oxtail and jamaican rice not so much.

My experience was great the fact that I had a show I was not able to enjoy my time but the bartender made sure everything came out in a timely fashion and we made our show on time

Steak served after far too long and was far more done than asked and tasted dry. The rest was ok The service was kind.
