   I like Choplin's, was just 'ok' on our last visit. We waited outside about 30 min after reservation to get table (several folks had same issue). Wife ordered French onion soup, was brought to her pretty quickly... except it was meant for another table. So they picked it up right as she was about to bite in and moved to the other table. Forgivable, but I wouldn't have wanted to be that other table with other guests breathing and talking all over my food. Newer dish in the NC Crab Casserole is a remix of their Blue crab dip with a bit of a funky aftertaste. Mother Earth salad is a little pedestrian for a nice restaurant. Cheesecake dessert was good, no complaints there. 3 stars, I'm still rooting for them. Was a little mediocre this time though.

   This was our second and last time eating at this restaurant. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation only to be told they didn’t have a table available. I said “wow, that’s interesting since we made a reservation online”. Magically, we were seated at a 4 top right after that conversation…..as we should have been. It’s not our problem that you are over seating your restaurant just to make more money. Our waitress was just meh….zero personality and seriously acted like we were bothering her by being there. We ordered drinks and looked over the menu. I started with the Mother Earth salad and my husband had the ceasar salad. Both salads were simply pathetic. Slabs of romaine with the root still on it, minimal ingredients and little to no dressing. We barely touched them….not worth $2 much less $11 each! I ordered the filet and it came with scalloped potatoes and some sort of green beans. The filet was a decent size and cooked to my liking, but it lacked flavor. I’ll save my steak dinners for Epic as they know how to cook a steak that will melt in your mouth! The sides were gross, box grade scalloped potatoes and soggy over seasoned green beans. My husband got the salmon and it was a decent piece of fish. He said it tasted fine, not mind blowing. The turmeric rice was box grade as well. Neither one of us fished our meals. The bill was $200 and wasn’t worth $50. Not only was the food and service just plain bad, no one seems to know what is going on in there. We had 3 different meals brought to our table that we didn’t order! There are way to many stellar restaurants in and around LKN towns, so this one never be reserved again.

   We met family for dinner and from the moment we walked into Choplin’s we knew we were in for a treat! We were celebrating a birthday and they went over and beyond to make it special! Our server Jackson made us feel at home and took such good care of us! BEST meal we’ve had out! We can’t wait to be back!!!!

   I will not be coming back EVER again. My family has been coming to Choplin’s for several years, and the two times we’ve been in the last year, have BOTH been horrible experiences. Reservation times seem to be merely a suggestion (especially if made on OpenTable), they’ve overpacked the place to the point it’s probably a code violation, and the management is incredibly rude and doesn’t like to be questioned. Last night, we waited in the rain just to check in, only to have people cut in line and get checked in before us (because the hostess disappeared), and to find out that the wait was still 30-40 minutes. On Mother’s Day last year, we made a reservation and they did not specify indoor and outdoor seating (because they don’t usually have outdoor as an option), and when we arrived, they wanted to seat us outside….and it was extremely hot that day. I explained how that wasn’t what I made a reservation for, and the hostess was incensed over me questioning her, and very rude. She said that if we wanted inside that we would have to wait over an hour because they were fully booked inside. We had no other choice, so we stayed. Our table and seating were plastic. PLASTIC. And, we were packed in there like sardines, because that front area was not meant to be for seating. I won’t go into the multitude of code violations that were happening out there that day…in the parking lot, but it was clear they didn’t care. Needless to say, I felt like I was at a family picnic with 40 (yes, that many) total strangers. No privacy or personal space at all. It was no where close to fine dining. As a long time customer, I am very disappointed at how they are now running this place. It seems like all they care about is getting as many people in as they can, at any cost. Forget customer service and ambience.

   We loved our waitstaff, Wilson. Although it was packed for Valentine’s Day, the set menu was a smart choice and streamlined service. The suggested wine list was excellent. The dinner and dessert items also were excellent. We will return to Choplin’s and consider it a place to take out of town family. I plan work events so this will also be a small venue for me to consider for the future.

   We had reservations for Valentine’s weekend and was our first time dining here. We were met at the door with a declaration of a “Special Menu” at $90/pp. There was no indication of this on the website, no phone call, and nothing on the website. We were extremely disappointed that this pricing did not include courses with wine or beverage. Very disappointed….was not an enjoyable evening. Seating was uncomfortable and ambience affected by this. I was looking forward to this dinner and ended up only eating a small salad and crab dip for $70.

   We enjoyed their pri fixe dinner for Valentines Day. The meal was a great value for the price. High quality ingredients and delicious food… I will definitely be revisiting this restaurant.

   Reservation was at 9:30pm we showed up on time and didn't get seated until 10pm. Some of the options that I wanted for my 3 course meal they were sold out of.My Girlfriend and I ordered a drinks and got served the wrong drinks that we didn't order. We only ate 1/3 to half of our food because by the time the food came she was ready to go and the waiter offered to pack our food up but NEVER brought our togo plates back and we never saw her for the rest of the night after she pickup our plates. Feel like I waisted $300 and the special moment I wanted to have with my Girlfriend was ruined. So in all I'm highly disappointed

   The food was definitely good and worth it, however they lacked in a lot of areas especially for the price. For an almost 200$ dinner for 2 i would at the very least expect them to invest in a full time bartender instead of making inexperienced waiters/waitresses attempt cocktails. Over the internet it’s seems like a classy place to have a dinner but it ended up feeling like high schoolers performing a play compared to broadway. Yea they tried, but clearly didn’t have experience. I’d argue the only professional in there was the person actually cooking the food.

    Never come here for Valentines Day. I can imagine the service would be better any other day of the week. Although, it was very clear the restaurant was money hungry for their most popular day of the year. Tables of 4 were split in half, and barely separated. I was bumping elbows with the couple next to us, and could clearly hear the conversations of everyone around us. The menus were quite literally a piece of printed paper, poorly written, and had a random URL at the bottom. For $200 you would think they would put in a little effort. Our server never checked on us, was clearly overwhelmed, and didn’t even have the room to place our plates on the table. She had to pass the plate over my head for my wife to grab and place on the table. The main course was good, although the desert was foul. I would never recommend this place as a romantic date night to anyone. They clearly care more about filling as many seats as possible rather than making it an intimate dinner.
