A relaxed wine-led rooftop restaurant with panoramic views of Manchester City Centre, a daily changing menu, and a cellar with more than 400 different wines to choose from.

Climat is the second site from the team behind Covino, who set up shop in Chester's historic city centre back in 2016. The team has since forged a reputation both regionally & nationally as a fiercely passionate wine-led restaurant with exciting daily changing menus.

Head Chef Luke Richardson best describes his style of cooking as 'Parisian ex-pat food' - a nod to his time spent cooking in the cosmopolitan kitchens of Paris.

As the name 'Climat' might suggest, our cellar of more than 400 different wines has a slight lean toward our favourite region of all - Burgundy. Outside of Burgundy you’ll find a healthy selection of other favourites from around the world, with wines from small producers, to the more iconic, and all the top vignerons that sit between.

    Our once-a-year Sunday service at Climat, offering you respite from the deluge of roasted meat we all tire of at this time of year. For one day only we forget our usual menu and go all in on heartwarming comfort food, so sequester yourself on the 8th floor - away from the post-Christmas sales and the chilly air - and delve in to a decadent pie made for sharing. For £35pp enjoy a starter, a sharing pie and a dessert. T's & C's: We must be made aware of any allergies or dietary requirements at time of booking and, as this is meal is served family-style, the whole table must be on the same menu (The pies are shared between two, so for larger tables we can be flexible). The ticket is non-refundable.

    Climat is an experience you cannot miss. We went for the carte Blanche menu, so each dish came as a surprise. We tried dishes we may not have not normally gone for and each one was delightful. The service was great from greeting to goodbye, our server recommended some excellent wine choices. What an experience, I will be back!

    Perfect! Great food, atmosphere and lovely staff! Waiter was knowledgable and helped us find the exact wine we were looking for and we enjoyed it so much we took a photo (always a good sign). Dishes were full of flavour and all came around the same time, so we weren’t waiting a long time for certain dishes. The staff were accommodating (we were late) and moved things around so we could stay a bit longer. We then moved to the bar area after which was lovely and enjoyed the incredible cookie and ice cream dessert there. Decor was also beautiful and aesthetic. Would definitely recommend!

    Lovely and creative food as ever. Always enjoy the evolving menu. Everything great but particularly enjoyed the Korean influenced beef tartare and the beetroot tart…. Absolutely delicious

    Really enjoyed the meal Staff were very helpful Food was good The biggest problem The menu never had enough vegetation’s options Only one fish option So my wife had a limited options As for myself i could eat most of the menu I will go again Maybe without my wife

    Overall, Climat was a lovely experience. Service was excellent, and the ambience and views were great. The food was great, and the mains (lamb and pork) were exceptional. The brioche with the pate and plums was delicious. The beetroot and apple tart was gorgeous - perfectly diced like succulent veg tartare. The venison raviolo with truffle sauce was excellent; so exciting to taste the filling clearly and perfectly seasoned by the sauce. The sides were a slight letdown (sprouts were over-charred, potatoes just a little under for our liking), but that tells you how good the other dishes were. It's always hard to tell how many dishes you really need in a sharing plate dinner; our reflection is that six is the max, five if you also want desert. It's a wine-led restaurant, and the list is really strong. The sommelier was spot on and saved me £20 by pinpointing an excellent Barolo which went brilliantly with our food choices. Highly recommend.

    Sublime! We are regular visitors to Covino in Chester , however Climat is on another level. Amazing food - great location, exceptional wine list Well done

    Our first time at Climat following loads of recommendations and it was so worth it. The food was absolutely amazing and the service fantastic. Joe in particular was so attentive, I am a vegetarian and he kindly spoke me through the menu, highlighting changes that could be made to increase the offering for me - and those changes were so good. I could not recommend more and we’ll definitely be back.

    Excellent all round - perfect approach to service, helpful but not overbearing. Food was incredible and wine advice was outstanding too. Really great Christmas dinner with friends. Already looking forward to coming back in January.
