On a mission to share the beauty of Mexican culture through food, Chef Johnny Curiel opens Cozobi Fonda Fina as an encore to his beloved LoHi restaurant, Alma Fonda Fina. Named after Cozobi, the Zapotec god of corn, Cozobi Fonda Fina is rooted in Mexico’s centuries-old corn nixtamalization traditions and wood-fire cooking techniques that define its rich food history.

    This restaurant is an absolute success. Food and atmosphere were top notch. I particularly enjoyed the creativity of the coconut meat ceviche and the chilaquiles. The family style serving of plates was enjoyable, I found the portion servings just right… and I very much ate too much. Worth the indulgence!

    Blew me away! Everything we tired was outstanding, wonderful flavors, unique combinations. I told my wife we are going on a voyage to eat our way through the menu. excited to return. I'm reluctant to share cause I don't want to not be able to get a table! Really great.

    An unforgettable evening at Cozobi Fonda Fina in Boulder 🌟🔥 Johnny Curiel’s newest gem blends wood-fired cooking with incredible flavors. We started with a perfectly balanced classic margarita and an impressive Oaxacan Old Fashioned. 🍹✨ The Guacamole A Las Brasas with fresh chips was a fantastic start, followed by the life-changing Camote Asado—sweet potato atop whipped ricotta, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. 🌱 The Taco Mole Verde was moist and flavorful, but the showstopper was the Enmolada De Pollo with the BEST mole we’ve ever had. 🙌 Finished the evening with the perfect Tres Leches dessert. Highly recommend making reservations. This is a must-visit!

    This was our second time there, we took friends with us this time. Cozobi didn’t disappoint! The sweet potato appetizer is still our absolute favorite. So many flavors. We also had the avocado dip and scallop appetizers. The homemade tortillas chips were bomb. We then ordered all the tacos, they were delicious. Again, the tortillas really make the dish. Cocktails were great too!

    Outside Fresca, which is unattainable most of the time, this is the best meal we’ve had in Boulder. We sat at the chef’s counter which was super fun. Can’t recommend highly enough!

    Wow, simply one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Boulder in the past ten years! Such high quality ingredients prepared to perfection, and such a professional, qualified server and kitchen staff. And, it deserves to be mentioned that we ate a ton of food, and that the overall bill would have been higher at other restaurants that we consider to be in the same sphere of quality.
