Its not very clear when you make a reservation that you cannot sit in the whiskey bar section below. I made a reservation for a large group thinking we would be seated downstairs but instead we got put at a back table near the bathrooms, which had a very strong chemical or air freshener smell that could be smelled at the table. Crimson needs to differentiate more clearly that the reservation does not include sitting downstairs.

This was a great spot to host my BFF's birthday dinner, but I do have several issues that would discourage me from going back for another celebration. First, I had to pay a $25 fee to bring in a birthday cake even though I called ahead and I was told that I could. They must have forgotten to mention the fee on the phone. Second, while we really enjoyed the diner- it was incredibly hot. There were so many people and it was so hot. The heat was a big distraction from the dinner party. It was super warm in the basement as well. However, the rooftop was beautiful and the food was delicious.

Our reservation went from 6 to 10 people during the course of Monday afternoons hockey game. The restaurant was not very busy but we were placed in the very back of restaurant near kitchen and restrooms. Not very appealing when we simply wished to make early New Year's toast and nosh on a few appetizers. To top it off, our server one to brought a bottle of wine and immediately poured 3 glasses without allowing anyone to taste. Between the wine and slow service, a very blah get together. And everyone departed .

I had never been before, but loved Crimson! Before dinner we grabbed a drink at the downstairs whiskey bar level, which was massive, but still such a cozy, relaxed vibe. The diner's menu was vast and had plenty of vegetarian options to choose from (much appreciated, Crimson, thank you!!) and the milkshakes and cocktails were delicious. Prices were very reasonable for what you got, and I can't wait to go back and try more. Service was rather slow, but that was the only negative, which is not bad at all.

We started with cocktails and a great view on the roof then moved downstairs for dinner. The fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese dip were my favorites, but all the food was good.
