Newly relaunched on 10/29/24 as "Heritage East," on the beautiful square in Downtown Tyler.

Modern East Texas cuisine by award winning (Cochon 555 "Prince of Pork," Texas Bucket List "Bite of the Season" for our Heritage Pork Chop) and Food Network Chopped featured Chef Lance McWhorter. Locally raised steaks, chops, chicken, wild game, seafood, handmade pastas, all served from an open kitchen that is right in the dining room.

Our speakeasy bar, The Plaid Rabbit, is open to the public, happy hours are Tues-Sat, 5-7. Check in with our hostess to access.

Patio seating is available for reservations, indoor replacement seating may not be available for reservations interrupted due to inclement weather. Reserve at your own risk. Due to the small size of our dining room, no high chairs or room for strollers is available.

                                                                Possibly the best meal I have ever had… I had the striped bass and it was fantastic…. My son had the Ribeye and he said it was phenomenal. The waitstaff were quite knowledgeable and very attentive… the chocolate mousse was worth the hype and I enjoyed my experience very much

                                                                One of the best meals we have had in forever. Farm to table meets creative southern flair. Excellent service and food. Loved! Everything - all the tastes and flavor pairings were well thought out and creative. Loved Speakeasy plaid rabbit and bartender Mitch- creative cocktails. Sat at bar and watched the show. Open kitchen - so cool to watch your dish being made. Loved our waiter Kyle and got to meet Chef Lance- a treat!!What a gem in downtown Tyler. Make reservations now and go! Run don’t walk.

                                                                I’m a foodie visiting from NY and am so impressed with Heritage East. Best Restaurant in Tyler by a long shot. The frog legs, venison, burnt ends, crawfish mac and cheese, Moroccan lamb flatbread and wild boar cavatelli were all hauntingly good. Ended the meal with dessert ( mind blowingly delicious chocolate mousse, chocolate cake and Texan Madiera) in the plaid Rabbit. A perfect meal in a charming atmosphere. Very impressed. Excellent wine list too.

                                                                I’ve almost always had the ribeye or NY strip (and always love it!)……but finally I had one of Chef Lance’s signature dishes: Yardbird! It was delicious! I made the mistake of getting the chicken gravy on the side. I won’t make that mistake again! Chef Lance and his amazing team have things down pat!! This is the best restaurant in Tyler and we can’t wait to go back.
