Desi Contemporary Indian Casual is a modern casual Indian restaurant in Bay Area featuring Cal Indian Food. Our flavors are firmly rooted in Indian food with influences from around the world, resulting in adventurous, delicious dishes. We believe that the world's cuisines are more similar than different, and celebrate how various signature dishes, worlds apart, have striking similarities. We started in December 2019 in San Jose, California. Our primary location is in Campbell between Pruneyard restaurants and Downtown Campbell, California. Rather unique Indian fusion .interesting food combinations lots of choices. Great Nan. They need some more work as dishes didn't have all the ingredients listed. Generous wine pours. Good prices. Helpful and kind staff. . Outside dining is on the street side . Not very inviting. Inside is very clean and spacious with a bar. I say it's worth a try for something different

We went for drinks and dinner on a Wednesday night. The place was empty. The drinks and the food were excellent. They have very interesting and tasty dishes, both small and large plates. We had a chicken tiki masala, Butter chicken tacos, and samosas with a slightly spicy sauce and chickpeas. It was delicious. We had a pleasant quiet evening.

This is a unique indian food experience . There is fusion of mexican italian with Indian spices . The menu is complicated . What is Gabru ? For example? I had the blackened chicken breast in a nice red sauce with saffron rice and various pickles . The chicken was dry and a bit leathery . The rice must have been old cause it was crispy and dry the food was luke warm . The over all taste and flavors were good The chicken tacos were very nice . This is why i gave them three stars The paneer dish was not that great but the taste is good . It was eerily quiet . We were the only people for 2 hours . Does not bode well for the future. The chairs were those you have a school class . It was a cross between a cafeteria and a restaurant . The service was nice I wish them well

The food was amazing and had great presentation! Our waitress was super helpful and the bartender passionate about his trade. Loved his old fashion a must try! We had a large group and they accommodated us big time!

We’ll be back again and again. Great space, gracious folks, delish food. We choose and share two or three smaller plates. Had the Kathi rolls last night with lamb. Superb!!! And get the fries with that because they are amazing!! Also had tandoori chicken which came with 2 dipping sauces. The green one is mint and it’s not hot but it’s wonderfully complex!

Dinner was wonderful. Rashi, our server, was attentive and efficient. Gabriel mixed us each a 100 degree cocktail.

Huge disappointment on our first long awaited visit. Our table that was offered on arrival with a reservation needed a clean up before being seated. Street eats ( Tikka chance on me and Empanadas) as they arrived looked like a dorm rooms makeshift snack made up dishes. The next course of Sarson Ka Saag with Naan was the worst experience. The saag dish looked brownish rather than the verdant Green in appearance and it tasted funky and smelled like Henna( the color you use to dye one’s hair) and the Naan was overall unappealing and un cooked. We stopped eating , cancelled the dessert order and asked for a refund and explained our concerns in detail. The Staff understood, didn’t charge us for main course and gave a 20% discount . We left the place completely disappointed and a bit concerned at the safety and sanitation issues of the place and the food we ingested. Decided never to return. The management hopefully takes this feedback to change few practices and makes an effort. Food can be medicine or Food can be poison .
