My husband and I spend 4 mos out of the year in FL and the Dolphin Bar is our favorite restaurant! We've always enjoyed our dining experience in the past and celebrate his birthday on Dec 26 year after year. The food is delicious and we are always pleased with the presentation. However this year, we were not pleased with the wait staff. We made a reservation in advance and were seated immediately, but when brought to our seat, my husband's menu was "tossed" on the table and it fell onto the chair as the young lady whipped around and before properly seating us. Our waitress was very similar, she was very quick to leave our table and twice, she left as my husband was speaking to her. Our bread was brought to our table AFTER we received our entree- we had ordered a cocktail and would have enjoyed the bread beforehand as we were very hungry. When we ordered a birthday dessert, we were directed to a tall leatherette menu already on the table. We settled on an apple crisp, but when we ordered, the waitress yanked it off the table and said it was the fall fare and that it wasn't available. She then brought a different menu to order from. We don't typically complain, but we expect more from the Dolphin Bar- this was not the experience we are accustomed to from this lovely restaurant.

The Dolphin is one of our go-to restaurants. Excellent salad bar - something you don't see much these days. Other salads and entrees always good, sometimes very good. Fish dishes are always nicely done. View over the Indian River especially with the porch sitting is a plus. Overall experience is always satisfying.

We have eaten here before and always enjoyed the food but this time was HORRIBLE!! We ordered the special and literally could not even tell what type of fish was served - it was dolphin! The succotash was inedible and our server was sweet but service was slow and after we had already ordered meals came back to say one item was no longer available. Needless to say this was probably our last time coming here it was embarrassing for our out of town guests.

The appetizer, fried green tomatoes, was very good. The entrees were mediocre and we were expecting much better. Dinner came out before clearing the table. Dolphin has been a place we’re happy to take guests. I think we will look elsewhere, as it isn’t what it used to be to be in our opinion.

Table wasn’t ready when we arrived but was available within a few minutes. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, knew the menu and ingredients. Food was acceptable but not outstanding. My fettuccine was rather bland but otherwise quite good. My wife’s fish was a bit dry but the sauces and vegetables were excellent. Overall a pleasant evening.

I had the shrimp with cajun seasoning and I ordered the seasoning light and it was way too spicy, but they were so nice to take it back and put no spice on it and it was still delicious. The waiter did tell me that it was very spicy so to order it late on the spice, but it was still too spicy but after they brought it back with no spices, it was delicious. My husband had the prime rib and he said it was excellent. The prices were a little bit steep, but otherwise everything was excellent.
