   . Owing to a good time we had there in 2023, my wife and I went to dinner at Drapers last night. We were QUITE disappointed with the experience. To wit: •I ordered a hamburger without the caramelized onions and with mustard on the side. The burger came WITH the onions, but WITHOUT the mustard. It took two waitstaff around 5 minutes to get the mustard. •The burger was tasteless. •When we sat down, I’d shown the waiter a membership card which entitled us to a discount. He reacted to it in such a way that I thought he know about the discount. However, when he brought me the bill, there was no discount. I reminded him about the supposed discount; he checked with his manager, and we did finally get one. We have no plans to go there again.

   Great spot in downtown Fairfax. Good range dishes from sandwiches to seafood to pasta entrees. Service was excellent as was the taste. Server knowledgable about gluten free and kitchen made lots of accommodations including rice flour breading for calamari which was great for our gf diner!

   Food was bland. Give it a D. Inside is very nice. Got lobster roll. Very small and meat was bland. Wife got chicken marsala and chicken was bland and noodles way under cooked. Got a sangria as drink. No fruit flavor. Wife joked that her diet coke was good. Only thing good we can say about it for a $100 meal for 2. Very disappointed. Will not be going back.

   Our server, Thomas, was so friendly and accommodating (took pictures for us, wished happy birthday), the bartender offered our birthday girl a drink on the house and came over to our table, the Chef came out to see how everything was and wish a happy birthday. I felt like we were “regulars” and friends. Great food, exceptional customer service.

    Draper’s continues to offer delicious food and great service. They will continue to be one of my “go to” restaurants.
