Earp’s is a throw-back to the college bars of the 80s—not a bad thing at all! Just know this if you’re meeting up with family and friends. The cocktails were the star of the show. The drinks were in their original proportions—not watered down—and made with real fruit—not mixes. We had Earp’s version of the Bermuda Rum Swizzle and a Dry Martini. The former is almost never found on cocktail menus anymore; and the latter only has a 50:50 chance of coming out in the original proportions these days. Good job, Earp’s for getting these right! The food is quite good. The menu is very limited, but we found things we liked and everything was delicious. We started with the hush puppy fajita. We had no idea what to expect, and it was really good—a bit of fresh jalapeño gave the hush puppies a Tex-Mex kick, and folding some fajita veggies in with the mix made this a true appetizer rather than just bread folded in bread. My partner had the bacon burger. It was basic—no tomatoes or onions and only the house sauce for a condiment. However, it was a respectably sized patty cooked perfectly, which is really hard to find these days. I had the short rib grilled cheese. Again, lacking in any of the condiments that one associates with short ribs. However, I could really taste the pork and could tell that it was cooked perfectly. Having it served in the grilled cheese format was fun! The price was reasonable for NoVA, and English was the native language for all the staff. However, we had to shout our conversation to each other. And the ‘early show’ was a singer with just an acoustic guitar. He was very good, just amped WAY too loud. I can only imagine that the full band setting up for the later show would have made any conversation impossible. Lastly, Earp’s has no ambiance to speak of. It’s a basement music hall with tables—a cross between a supper-club and a bowling alley. Bottom Line: We have friends who would love Earp’s, and we would take them there in a heartbeat.

Great music venue with better than average bar food. The band (Groovalicious) was a blast -- brought us right back to our 20's. Recommend reserving a table -- worked like a charm and got us a table near the dance floor. The waiters were very friendly, but stretched thin. The kitchen seemed slammed -- order food sooner rather than later.

Excellent find. Wait staff was attentive and helpful. Check in staff knowledgeable and ready to share details of upcoming performances. Food was very good, and selection is wide. Only could stay for opening act but the enthusiasm and audience support, plus the singer's talent, combined for a great evening. We'll be back when we can stay longer. Terrific find in the heart of Fairfax City.

I thought the experience was pretty good. Fun night out given it was a Friday and there was a bluegrass event on stage. Lots of people were into the experience. Partner had wings, smash burger and fries, I had hot chicken sandwich and fries. Order was a bit slow but they were quite busy just before showtime. Drinks came out fast, though. Chicken sandwich was very good, fries skinny and hot. He thought burger was just OK. Wings were run of the mill but hot and good size. Fun night out for mucic and bar food.
