While pizza and pasta are just the tip of the Italian iceberg, there is a reason these two culinary staples are the most beloved exports from Italy. Enjoy our seasonal selection just steps away from where our expert pasta chefs and dough-slinging pizzaioli (pizza makers) create dishes before your eyes.

First time for us at Eataly. Place is beautiful, I love the store. Atmosphere is great. Food was ok. The pizza was the best part. Menu is small. Service was slow. Overall it was ok.

The space is beautiful and the genuine commitment to serving truly Italian food is commendable. However, the staff and general feeling eating at the restaurant is somewhat cold. The fact that they only offer three gluten-free dinner options and absolutely no gluten-free dessert feels very unwelcoming and it also makes it very difficult for those who really want to enjoy the restaurant to go more than every once in a while with such limited choices. If they truly want to be like Italy then they should have a lot more gluten-free choices as Italy has so many Sanza gluten choices. They also need to warm up the staff and make people feel welcome. It appears that they may be somewhat understaffed as there are a lot of empty tables, but no reservations available. I have to command the gluten-free pizza however. It is absolutely fantastic. They also need to realize that while staying true to Italy, you are still in America and you do need to offer unsweetened iced tea as a drink choice. Water or soda should not be the only choices, especially with someone who might be diabetic and want something a little bit different but not a drink full of sugar I think with a few improvements this restaurant could be a fantastic success and a long-term resident of the short Hills mall.

Skip this over rated place. We were really excited to try this restaurant. Our server took our order, advised us she was leaving before we got our food and that we would have a new server. We were never really sure who he was. We were a group of 4 and 2 got their meals the others waited and waited.. finally came. The pizza was soggy. Waters were never refilled. Plenty of empty tables but the host stand kept a long line out front. Most unacceptable was one of the kitchen staff wiping his nose with his hand and continuing to prep food. 1 app, 2 pastas and 2 pizzas $150, completely overpriced, horrible service and nothing special about the food.

Unbelievably rushed experience. Forced us to order appetizers with dinner despite being ready. The. They rushed the entree onto the table while we were still eating the appetizer. And then rushed us thru that. And top it off its ridiculously expensive. Food is decent but way way way overpriced for the experience of being rushed.

Food was ok, but service and attitude of staff was awful. Very disappointing since we’ve eaten at other Eataly locations (NYC and Boston). This location doesn’t compare. It’s more of an upscale food court experience vs a fine dining experience. We were not offered a dessert menu or asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, just handed the check after the main course. When we asked why one of our entrees didn’t match the description on the menu we were told that it is not how it is prepared at THIS location. When we asked why that wasn’t explained to us when we placed our order, our waitress (Zeniyah) told us that “most people would ask”- ummm … how were we supposed to know that it wouldn’t match the menu’s description? Just very rude and bad attitude from most staff.

Food - the pizza, calamari and wine were good. The pasta was very good, but very over-priced at $29 for a very small serving. The real issue - We came for dinner with a $75 gift card that had been given to us. The gift card gave instructions on how to make an online purchase but also on booking a table. We asked the hosts prior to being seated if we could use the gift card and both hosts said 'absolutely'. After dinner, we presented the gift card, and the manager came over to say 'unfortunately, we aren't set up to accept these yet'. When we said the hosts had assured us we could, he asked if we had shown them the gift card! Why would we? They didn't ask to see it. Why would he try to make it our fault that "they aren't set up to accept these yet". The manager ruined a perfectly good night out and we are out $75. I informed the manager that it was an unacceptable resolution, to which he had no response. That lack of customer support is never expected when a party of 2 spends $135 on dinner. Additionally, the woman at the table next to us had an issue with her order and left without eating. Not sure we'd ever return. but unfortunately, do need to use that gift card!

Food was mid and not a good value for what it was. Service was slow and inattentive. Had to track people down to ask for more water, order a beer and ask for grated cheese while pasta was getting cold. Will not return.

Service takes too long, a bit disorganized. Calzone came burnt and flat. We were offered another one, which looked better. Also ordered pasta that tasted good. Overall service needs to improve. Food quality also under other Eataly units standards
