ELEM is a new restaurant and cocktail lab on Main + 5th.

Guests can expect to indulge in Top Chef Canada alum Mayekar’s bold cooking, featuring creative flavour-packed dishes that highlight the unique spices from cuisines around the world with local ingredients, alongside Winnie Sun’s inventive, element-inspired and sustainability-driven cocktails.

ELEM’s food menu is an exploration of flavours and spices from all corners of the world, including Bangkok, California, Spain, Mexico, Italy, and Mumbai – all inspired by Mayekar’s extensive travels and Indian heritage. There will also be a big focus on local BC-grown ingredients.

The 2,946 square foot, 76-seat space was designed by Vancouver-based Marko Simcich Architect and features three dining spaces and an open window into the kitchen to see the chefs at work.

    A memorable experience at ELEM- a spectacular new spot in Vancouver’s culinary scene. ELEM delivers an incredible chef’s narrative told through food. Don’t skip the creative cocktails that complement the dining experience. Service level is incredibly high with a highly well trained staff who execute the dining experience impeccably.

    We had a wonderful experience and felt warmly welcomed throughout our visit. The space was inviting, and we truly enjoyed our time there. The food was delicious and hearty—on the heavier side, fasting-wise—but very satisfying. The cocktails were excellent and thoughtfully crafted. Toward the end of the evening, it did feel a bit chilly, and one of our drinks was forgotten, but overall, we appreciated the attentive service and the cool, vibrant ambiance.

    Thank you to Chefs Vish, Brent and Georgio and the rest of the stellar team at Elem. I had an incredible first experience at Elem: food, hospitality, drinks, etc. Everything was beautiful. Looking forward to the next visit.

    Loved the variety and different cuisines that permeated through the entire menu. The cocktail options were outstanding and so creative; we loved that they were able to turn so many of their cocktails into Zero-Proof options instead of having a small 'mocktail list' like most restaurants. The service was also great. No complaints, I will be back.

    Staff took pride showing us the whole room on our way in, and everything that was brought to the table was described in detail with nice storytelling elements. Our server, Giorgio, was very attentive and made some excellent recommendations. When we ordered wine, the somm, Daniel, gave us some great options to choose from and made sure our glasses were never empty. Thanks for a wonderful evening!

    Beautiful space, great ambiance, amazing food!!! Must try. The drinks and food are creative. Every dish has its own character and experience . Can’t wait to go back to try the rest of the creations.
