Terrible experience. We booked the Valentine’s meal, and from the moment we walked in, we got strange vibes. The host didn’t offer to take our jacket, even though he offered to for the people that came before us. We were seated in a remote corner, dark, corner of the restaurant. Drinks were terrible. Lamb shanks were filled with fat. The dessert was brought out when my partner was in the bathroom, so it was partially melted by the time she got back. Would never go back or recommend to anyone.

Nice dining experience and the dishes are creative. Noteworthy for me is the lamb skewers cooked to perfection , crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the XO risotto, the umami of the XO sauce nicely complements the richness the risotto. However, the steak fell short for me. Although it was grilled on both sides, the steak was cold. I like my steaks medium-rare but this steak felt like a rare.

No words will be able to describe how much fun my partner and I had yesterday. Amazing service and the food was top-notch.

It was ~okayish overall. Drinks were phenomenal! Service was some of the best I've experienced in Vancouver. But... Tartare was overly fatty and individually wasn't great without the chips they serve on the side. The risotto was overly salty and the consistency could have been better. White chocolate cremeux seemed like it needed to decide if it was a cold or a warm dessert. And the sticky toffee pudding was overly sweet; if I didn't have my fairly spirit forward cocktail left to pair with, I wouldn't have been able to finish it because of the sweetness.

Amazing food and amazing service - Elem is really something special. We went for the tasting menu, but the a la carte of share plates has something for everyone. And be sure to try one of their cocktails when you are there!

I think the menu is super romanced in their description. Had dine out and 3 additional dishes, as well as a cocktail. The venison tar tar and lamb skewers are good, but meat has umami as it is. The other dishes were OK, lacking in flavour. Got the white rabbit cocktail, didn't taste the white rabbit candy it was basically a blanc espresso martini. They have the creative vision for a successful restaurant but it's still in its infancy and it shows in the food quality. Chicken had an interesting presenation, juicy but not mind blowing. Scallops were cooked fine, came w 3 small pieces of bokchoy. Micro greens would have given the dish more of a wellrounded texture rather than bokchoy as it was soggy. Sticky toffee pudding was too hard, reminded me of the microwave version on tiktok. Was hoping for a melt in ur mouth texture. Pot de creme was good, was like a smooth white chocolate pudding. It wasn't bad, but for the hype theyre getting on social media it overpromised and the food was lacking the wow factor. Service was good, attentive and made the diner feel special as they were always changing plates/ cutler for next courses. Might check them out in the future after they've had a bit more practice and if they have new items on their menu.

We really enjoyed the service and the food was outstanding - Dungeness crab toast is a must. Daniel helped us choose an amazing wine which paired well with our food. Great experience for 3 colleagues on a night out.

The food was very good. We ordered the venison tartare, the roasted cauliflower and had the Loong Hong Chicken and braised short ribs as mains. The taste, the plating were all excellent. Must try their desserts too! Will definitely go back again!

Beautiful interior, so well thought out and aligns perfectly with the vision and goals of the owners. Everything has been well thought out. Highly recommend having a staff member give you a brief tour of the space if it’s offered. The cocktail menu was incredible (though I expected nothing less from the mastermind behind the bar menu next door at Zarak), the food flavourful, and the entire space was so calming and had great ambience. Service was fantastic; at first I felt our server was telling us way too much about the menus, but in the end his descriptions of the food and drinks gave us a better idea of what to dive into. He was attentive and friendly, but not overbearing. Can’t wait to come back and try some new dishes.

Best niche gourment eating experience for value I have had in Vancouver in years. 3 months out of the gate, you get these sense that they are proud, inspired and trying to create something special together. All the elegance without any of the pretension, menu options that were visually appealing and delicious, portions that didn't make you feel ripped off, an informed wine menu, novel cocktail options and a menu apparently inspired by the creative forces collaborating in the kitchen. Oh, and the server was fun, approachable and someone you enjoy spending time with. There hundreds of niche eateries and top-end restaurants trying to make a go of it in Vancouver. This is the place to go. It's happening and you'll enjoy being part of it if you book a rezo
