ELEM is a new restaurant and cocktail lab on Main + 5th.

Guests can expect to indulge in Top Chef Canada alum Mayekar’s bold cooking, featuring creative flavour-packed dishes that highlight the unique spices from cuisines around the world with local ingredients, alongside Winnie Sun’s inventive, element-inspired and sustainability-driven cocktails.

ELEM’s food menu is an exploration of flavours and spices from all corners of the world, including Bangkok, California, Spain, Mexico, Italy, and Mumbai – all inspired by Mayekar’s extensive travels and Indian heritage. There will also be a big focus on local BC-grown ingredients.

The 2,946 square foot, 76-seat space was designed by Vancouver-based Marko Simcich Architect and features three dining spaces and an open window into the kitchen to see the chefs at work.

    This was my favourite dining experience in Vancouver. Everything from the food, to the ambiance and the service was excellent. The amount of care and attention to detail that was put into everything did not go unnoticed. I’ve already booked to go back in a few weeks to share the experience with more friends.

    We loved our first experience at ELEM for my birthday. Everything was spectacular, from the service, to food and drinks. I would highly recommend ELEM to all those who are interested in trying unique dishes with fusion flavours and carefully crafted cocktails down to the scientific level. I must highlight the service and the attention each server, bartender, and busser paid to us throughout the night. It truly made it unforgettable and we cannot wait to come back.

    Michelin star level dinner. Absolutely amazing experience! The food was perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. The lamb is to die for. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and quick. Every dish exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to come back. Easily a 10/10 dining experience!

    We were blown away with the cocktails and the food...the creativity in taking all the individual ingredients to another level of taste!! Also, what made the meal so memorable and enjoyable was the knowledge the waiter's imparted on us with regards to each item that was served. We opted to try the tasting menu and were not disappointed with the dishes that were served! We see ourselves going back when we're back in town. Cheers to the management and the team at ELEM!

    We had a fantastic experience at Elem. The host welcomed us by giving us a tour of the space before seating us for the meal. Despite being fully booked, we were pleasantly surprised that we could have a clear conversation without raising our voices or straining to hear. Georgio, our server was attentive, gave great recommendations and was happy to inquire about ingredients with the kitchen staff for us. My boyfriend was treated to the honeydew cocktail from a limited batch after he mentioned liking melons. I loved my white rabbit infused espresso martini, it’s definitely a must try. Everything was done beautifully and in a timely manner. Would love to visit again and try more of the inventive cocktail list!
