   We made a reservation here for our New Year’s Eve dinner and were NOT disappointed. Excellent service and ambiance and the food was delicious. The special attention was so great, one of our servers made certain that I was apprised of exactly how the cocktail I ordered is prepared, which saved me from receiving something that doesn’t fall in my preferred palette. All of this despite our family having no fluency with the Japanese language. It was a great night and memorable meal.

   When you dine alone it’s difficult to overlook if the service you receive is different from the locals- the locals received a fresh wet cloth to wash their hands before & after the meal but I did not, the locals get tap water while I was only offered bottled still or sparkling water for a fee, the wine glass is filled half way for the locals but only 1/4 for me, the locals are offered fresh ground pepper on their salads but I was not, the locals are served their side dishes by the waiters but I was not, locals are offered a dessert menu following dinner but I was not. These are standard services you’d expect at a high quality restaurant when you’re dropping over $100! The food was great but sometimes it’s the little things like these that can make or break an upscale dining experience. Guess it’s only 5 star service for the locals.

   Very strange that I’m coming to Tokyo to enjoy American steak but Empire is a quick walk from my Roppongi hotel and the service here is top notch fantastic. It’s also friendly for solo diners and many of the salads and sides can be ordered half-size. They also carry my favorite Napa Merlot by Duckhorn. Head waiter Ito-san is about as professional and old-school as you can find anywhere these days …….all I can say is that Empire is worth the visit and cost because sometimes, no matter where you are, that craving for a juicy, rare, grass-fed USDA prime cut of beef must be fulfilled, with extreme perfection!!

   Probably picked the worst day to arrive in Narita/Tokyo Station with the Tokyo Marathon finishing up. But finally made it to my hotel in Roppongi……..then got ceremonially dumped no notice by three lady guests I had invited to Empire……maybe they all ran the marathon??? So I dined solo with my trusted server Yuta and all was well because Empire Steak is that kind of place. Love to start with a few glasses of their German beer Hoegaarden White to quench my thirst and wash down a succulent Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail and a crispy, anchovy tasting Caesar Salad. Ordered the Fillet Mignon RARE with Baked Tater and a glass of Merlot by Ca’Momi of Napa Valley……WOW!!! Must have been hungry after that long flight from Honolulu and two hour cheap bus ride to Tokyo Eki……..well 10 plus oz of the best, juicy, tender fillet was gone!!! But I got to say the best part of dining here are the truly professional and hard working staff. Attention to detail and teamwork are what comes to mind. Plus Server Asuka’s constant smile just made my evening……..Empire Roppongi not only serves awesome steak but is also a very cozy and heartwarming destination for visitors and locals to enjoy!!

   Absolutely a truly fantastic and memorable dining experience!! The King of Steak Course is as splendid a feast as any serious beef lover could ask for!! Young server dude Yuta, what a great kid, got to bring my single daughters next time…….my date and I enjoyed a nice bottle of Merlot, courtesy of Duckhorn/Napa Valley and a few hours later, walked out into the chilly Roppongi evening so full, satisfied and content!!

   I have lived in Japan over six years and when we visit now, it is for at least two weeks. Thus, we get into the mood for a classic steakhouse. Empire is that classic. This visit was really nice because we took a Japanese friend to enjoy a great steak. Our appetites are not huge, but we love quality cuts. The waiter offered us a beautiful 800-gram ribeye (nicely marbled) that he prepared for the three of use. Delicious! The family style sides, and great wine really made for a fun evening. I highly recommend.

   30代女性4人で伺いました。予約者が妊娠中の旨をお伝えしていたおかげか、クッションやブランケットをご用意頂きました。ワイワイ食べる方々は個室にいたので比較的落ち着いて食べることが出来ました。お子様連れもいましたが、静かに召し上がっていました。恐らくうちの息子は連れて来れません。（笑） 先に着いた3人で入店し、こちらからメニューをお願いするまで何もアクションがなかったのが少しだけ残念です。 料理のお味はどれも素晴らしく、また伺いたいです。

    フリーフローのお得なコースを頂きました。コースそのものは大変リーズナブルで期待通り。今回の肉は期待を少し下回りました。次回行く時はまず肉そのものを選ぶことにします。とはいえお店の雰囲気も比較的カジュアルで、仕事仲間とサッと入って肉を喰らうには大変使いやすいと思いました。
