Service was amazing, very attentive and enthusiastic. The steaks were very good too. We ordered 1 New York Steak, 3 Ribeye and all cooked to exactly how we wanted them to be. Sadly we were too full for desserts. Judging from other tables that had desserts, they appear to be another decilicious affairs!

This was supposed to be my birthday dinner. It did not feel that way at all and I felt completely overdressed with the way we were treated. I don’t think our server treated us well at all. First off, I understand if the restaurant is busy, but I had asked if there could be a possibility of us moving back inside because I was not enjoying the ambiance of being outdoors once we had gotten there even though I had asked to be outside. He responded that the inside may be full completely, but that he would still check, but said it in a way that he wasn’t going to actually check. Second, I had asked to be outside to show my father the views I had seen the last time I was here, but we were placed at a middle table which also made my event very subpar. Thirdly, after our entrees taking longer than usual and arriving to the table, he completely avoided our table for about 20 minutes of us actually finishing our food and I trying to make direct eye contact with him after he passed our table 5 times and him completely glazing over passed us. The fact that another server noticed us waiting for so long and helped packed our food twice while our server passed one more time and after another moment of waiting he proceeds to try and give us dessert menus. We decline and ask for the check because I was pretty upset about the whole ordeal. He proceeds to give us a small 3 piece “bonus” dessert which isn’t even the birthday dessert as if he remembered at all. He leaves the table after we pay and then returns to ask for a tip and proceeds to say very loudly “You don’t carry cash??” To my life partner in front of everybody. How incredibly disrespectful to come back and beg for a tip after ignoring us for longest after finishing up this dinner with bad service. The last time we were here, which wasn’t even a few weekends ago, we had the best service from the best server and we would have requested for him,but we forgot his name. We tipped him just fine and had a fantastic dinner.

This is a challenging one. 3 star is not for bad service or poor food quality - it is simply due to lack of ownership, lack of accountability and not taking care of the customer who spends a good chunk of change for a nice family dinner. I have to highlight that the food was well prepared and presented. Some may argue about two star short but here it goes. We got our salads and soups - amazing presentation. Great flavors! Time for the main - most of us had steaks and a salmon. We ordered one A5 - 4 oz. I raised to the waiter - due to trimming issues we got a tendon- well almost 1 oz. Not so much worried about the cost but he said that he would raise it to his manager. Nevertheless neither him nor the manager came over and mentioned it. When I select a place like Epic I am expecting to be taken care of. Very simple. If one serves A5 - it has to be trimmed and served right.. The filets and lamb chops were great. NY strip fell short of expectations. I guess some service basics and customer satisfaction training may be right. In fact - unfortunately one of the seasoned managers I know from The past was off. (Sorry Brian)

Possibly the worst service I’ve had in modern memory. Food was ok, but now well plated or timely.

Epic has an amazing setting, the views of the Bay Bridge and really nicely set up inside too. But our food and service left a lot to be desired. Our first server took a good 8 minutes after we were seated to even come and greet us. The Salad w ordered was very ordinary but the Poke was really good. For Main course, we ordered the Lamb chops, that my husband though were one of the best. But... I ordered the 8oz A5 Wagyu. nd when it was served, it was room temperature. I took a bite and asked if they could do something to fix this. It is not just about the money, but it the most expensive dish on their menu and if I am paying $200 for a single dish, I am hoping that it is served really well. They took it back, put it under a warming lamp I think for a minute and brought it back. At room temperature. At that time I finally said, I think I'd like to change my order to a Filet. The waiter seemed very reluctant and asked if he could warm it up again. It was our anniversary and I did not want to eat a dinner that I felt bad about later, s I nicely requested again that they change my order. The waiter finally said OK, but after that, we basically had a very sullen server. He came once again to serve the steak and then even though our dinners were done, we didn't see him till we called to him and asked for a dessert menu. And then the bill. Not a good experience.
