   Missed Potential for a Unique Brunch Experience I recently reserved an igloo for brunch at Fall Line Kitchen & Bar, intrigued by the cozy atmosphere and holiday decor. The space itself was beautiful — warm, festive, and inviting — and the two-hour minimum rental felt fair for what we hoped would be a special experience. Unfortunately, the quality of service and food fell far short of expectations. Checking in took longer than expected, but I understand staffing challenges these days. However, after being seated, it took nearly 20 minutes just to place our drink orders. My husband’s coffee finally arrived, lukewarm, with no cream or sugar. By the time those were brought, his coffee was cold, and we had to request another cup. My Breakfast Mule cocktail, while promising, arrived late and was so watered down by the time it came that it was disappointing. The brunch menu was extremely limited, and the one dish I wanted — the salmon — was sold out. I settled for traditional eggs, which were prepared well, but the toast was inexplicably cold and hard. My husband’s eggs were ordered over easy but came well over hard. The bacon was fine, and the jam was nice, but overall, the meal was underwhelming, especially given the $50 igloo rental and the already-included gratuity. While we did receive complimentary champagne, it didn’t make up for the lackluster service and food. I truly believe there’s potential to create a stellar experience here, but unfortunately, Fall Line missed the mark. My recommendation: hire and pay more servers to ensure food arrives hot and drinks on time, and expand the brunch menu to give guests more options. I wanted to love this experience, but it left me disappointed.

   Overpriced for the experience. We paid ahead for the igloo. We were in the tiniest one, which is just too small. I’m over 6 foot tall and could not stand up in it. And the igloos are along Broad Street. I should’ve done more research. The food was actually very good! The salmon, outstanding, the salad and the cornbread both very good. Cocktails very good. Our waitress Gabby was excellent. I would potentially go back to the restaurant again, but not the igloo experience as it’s just grossly overpriced.

   My wife and I laugh at ourselves because we travel to Richmond and love so many of the unique restaurants in the city, but we also keep coming back to Fall Line in a hotel. It really is that good and reliable. Excellent, friendly service with great drinks and wine, and a nice selection of appetizers and entrees for whatever you’re in the mood for. Our daughter also very much appreciates the “secret” kids menu with basics for when she’s not feeling a “fancy” meal. Definitely a level above what you would expect from a hotel restaurant, and the ambience/decor helps give you a separate dining experience feel.

   We did the igloo for Breakfast. It was nice but definitely small so if you are a tall person be prepared to duck to get in. They had bigger igloos for bigger parties but it was only us two. The food was ok I would have liked to have a bigger selection of food for their breakfast menu, there weren’t many options. The service was great. Overall I’m glad I tried it but I’m not sure I would go back to this particular restaurant for a breakfast choice.

   Everything we ordered surpassed our expectations. The skillet cornbread was delectable, the drinks were sublime, and the shrimp and grits were spicy, but so yummy! Not to mention that we had exceptional service by Sierra!

   If you’re looking for a magical dining experience in Richmond, the Winter Wonderland Igloos at Fall Line Kitchen & Bar in the Marriott Hotel are an absolute must! From the enchanting setting to the impeccable service and phenomenal food, our visit was unforgettable. The igloos are cozy, beautifully decorated, and perfect for any occasion. They made us feel like we were dining in a private winter oasis! The food and drinks were incredible. The seasonal drinks were uniquely crafted by their talented server staff—a cool and personal touch that made the experience even more special. Each drink was a delightful surprise, and we couldn’t get enough! As for the food, everything we ordered was on point. The Japanese-inspired deviled eggs were a unique twist on a classic, and they were absolutely wonderful. The porcini-rubbed steak was cooked to perfection—scrumptious and full of flavor. The French onion soup came in a generous portion and was everything you could hope for on a chilly evening—rich, hearty, and delicious. We also added a side of asparagus, which was perfectly cooked, shareable, and the ideal complement to the meal. To top it all off, the service was exceptional. Jess, our server, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel so welcome. She had great recommendations and added a personal touch to the evening. The general manager also stopped by our igloo a couple of times to check in, which really showed their dedication to making sure every guest has an amazing experience. From the stunning ambiance to the incredible food and standout service, this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Richmond.     This restaurant is the epitome of excellence! The interior is absolutely beautiful. It's immaculate, with a decor that is warm & charming. The ambiance is serene & lovely. We went on Thanksgiving night. For such a busy night, the service was amazing. Every member of the staff that we encountered, was welcoming, friendly, & exceptionally professional. The food was outstanding! I had the roasted chicken & my husband had the steak. Both dishes were incredibly delicious! Fresh food that was prepared to perfection and beautifully presented. We were so happy with the lovely dining experience we had and we thank each & every wonderful staff member. This restaurant is not to be missed while in Richmond, VA.
