   One of three restaurants on Stratton Mountain that is open for dinner on a Monday. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The waitress came by to take drink orders. No specials available that night. Menu had a little something for everyone.

   While the food & service at Firetower are good, the value may be questionable. 40 dollars for meatloaf? Anyway, while we recognize that the location within a resort plays a part in the cost escalation, it causes us to eat here only as an occasional treat. We are local homeowners that would come more often if there were more reasonable prices for everyday-food offerings. A drink at the bar and an appetizer can suffice for a visit.

   Always a goto when at Stratton. Make Reservations early usually fills up.

   Food was very good but portions were small for the price. Pretty expensive. Nice drink and wine list.

   Nice meal, good service. Christmas Eve price fix. For the price, we would have liked some bread for the table. Our section of the restaurant was very noisy. It was still enjoyable.

   I was glad to be able to get in to Fire Tower since they book out 48 days making it hard to get a reservation. However, we did not have a good experience. They brought out our main courses while we were only half way through our salads , and instead of apologizing or taking back the entrees they left us with all those plates of food we had no room for to start getting cold. They are strict about no substitutions because they so carefully design the flavor combinations yet the mahi mahi had little flavor. My husband’s steak came rare instead of medium rare and had to be sent back. When it was returned the right way, it was still only so-so, like a low level restaurant when this was a pricy dinner. The server checked back occasionally but seemed rushed. The kale salad was very good and we enjoyed the brownie sundae.

   The mahi mahi was bland and tasteless, the wings were delicious, the NY strip was cooked to perfection and very good. Drinks were as expected as was the service. Nothing to write home about, not sure why the price was so high other than because it’s Stratton, VT. Would I go again? Eh.
