   Staff is polite but not overly friendly and they pretty much leave you alone during service so you have to ask for more tea when you want it. Overall service is slow. Took a LONG time to get our first pots of tea. The savory options were excellent and sparse. Too many sweet options which weren’t as crave worthy as the savory treats. Recommend asking guests if they’d prefer more of one or the other since we end up paying for a lot of sweet items that none of us wanted. This is my 2nd visit to Floris. It’s a lovely tea service but has lots of room for improvement

   This was so fun! Delicious teas and tasty small foods, both sweet and savory. Good service, pleasant staff, beautiful room, and quiet enough for conversation without feeling like you were eavesdropping on others. Really nice experience. Take your mom, sister, daughter, friends.

   I have always wanted to experience a tea at Floris - but alas I am vegan. So when they announced their vegan tea date I immediately secured a reservation for myself and my non-vegan daughter. It was simply - magical. Every moment intentionally crafted to delight the senses. The food was - glorious! Creative, playful, delicious - the vegan element disappeared because the food was just - so lovely. It felt like the chef had such fun creating these delights for us. It was special. I hope this event will continue to be and option....I can't wait to go again (and again and again)!! Bravo!!!!

   The tea room at Floris is absolutely lovely. The service was outstanding and the creative offerings were fantastic. It is a beautiful space in which to spend time with friends and to enjoy the locally sourced food and teas.

   I recently had the pleasure of experiencing afternoon tea at Floris at VFMA, and it was an absolutely delightful affair. The sweet and savory menu items were a perfect balance of flavor, and the selection of teas complemented the dishes beautifully. Each bite and sip felt like a moment to savor. The ambiance at Floris was equally impressive—the seating was both comfortable and elegant, creating an inviting atmosphere that truly enhanced the experience. The staff equally warm and inviting. A personal highlight for me was the cucumber sandwiches. They were wonderfully fresh and flavorful—so good that I found myself wishing for more! Floris exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to return for another memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a refined and relaxing afternoon tea!

   The service should have been much better. We were not well attended. Also, this traditional English tea was missing many components of what would be considered “traditional.” For example, the scones were too small and there was no clotted cream, which is traditional. Also, the tea pots were too small and not kept warm. No heaters or even tea cozies, so the tea got cold very quickly. Not at all the professional experience I was expected from the vmfa.

   Lovely! Spencer was the best! He described teas very well. And went thru the entire tier for us. A lovely afternoon

   I typically go for afternoon tea at least once a month and enjoy experiencing new tea rooms. Floris was the next on my list to try out. I loved the location, the building and room are beautiful. Its also great to pop over to the museum afterwards for a little walk. The tea selection was great and appreciated the waitress's suggestions. The tea stayed hot and refilled. I lean more towards a traditional tea food offering so I was a little less enthusiastic about what was served. But the items seemed thoughtful and everyone around me seemed to enjoy it. As a personal preference, I didn't find the food very enjoyable. I would come back to try a different seasonal menu however. I definitely recommend adding Floris to your list of tea rooms to visit.

    The tea selection was outstanding (though with a really off-putting smokey black tea featured very prominently on the menu.) If you want to go try a lot of teas, this is the place for you. Unfortunately, the food was really a miss. A couple things were quite good, but many felt like freezer hors d’oeuvres that would have been better if I could have been at home to make sure they were fully warmed. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant afternoon in a great spot! I just wish the food would have been at the level of everything else.
