At Forbidden Root, we value the way great beer creates pleasure. Through both our beers and brewpubs we envelop our guests in a rich multisensory experience through the textures, flavors, and visual sparkle of our beer, food, and environment.
Located in The Yard at Easton, we feature creative cuisine from Executive Chef Paul Yow and imaginative brews from Masterbrewer Nick Gabriel. Join us for one of Paul's signature dishes, The Duck & Dumplings, or perhaps a crowd favorite Strawberry Basil Hefewleizen, in our warm and open atmosphere.

Mom wants to relax and have fun. Don't go to a fancy, stuffy restaurant. We are offering a unique and special buffet this Mother's Day. Featurning a Prime Rib carving station, the buffet will include other great food choices such as a Mac & Cheese Bar, Ham, and Shrmip Fried Rice. Other items include Mashed Potatoes, Scrambled Eggs and Bacon, Dips, Fruit and Cheese and much, much more. Check out our website for the full menu. This is the only menu we are offering for the day.

Had a group of four and was seated promptly given water and place settings upon arrival to table, server Mary was wonderful and very pleasant, she knew all the dishes, drinks etc. The food was served in a timely manner and was very good. Mary took good care of us and will dine there again.

We enjoyed the 2025 Valentine's menu. It came with an app, main, and desert for just $36 bucks which is kinda wild and affordable in my opinion. The ambience is stunning, just a really cozy, dim, romantic feel. Not too noisy, and despite being a full restaurant on one of the busiest days of the year, it felt surprisingly intimate with the use of cloth curtains partitioning the space into smaller sections. The appetizers were fantastic, I had the shrimp gumbo and my girlfriend had the wedge salad. For the main course I had the crab linguine Alfredo which was incredible and had an absurd amount of crab (in a very good way). My girlfriend had the pork and it was so tender, served right on the shank for an impressive display and large portion. Dessert was the only bummer. They were out of tiramisu so our options were a beer float or a s'mores brownie. I loved my float, but the brownie was dry, hard, and I make better ones out of a box. Overall, incredible meal though, super affordable and with some cocktails and beers it was still well below our Vday date budget. Finally need to note that our server was a joy! She was super informative about the menu, very personable and fun. Attentive, really just all the things you want from your service. We will be back for sure!

This was our first time here and we will absolutely be back. Food was outstanding. Our waitress was honest and gave us great recommendations. The atmosphere was super chill. We loved everything about this place!

We had the Poke Nachos and the Sauerkraut Balls as appetizers. The Poke was awesome. The Sauerkraut Balls were OK but the sauce was excellent. We found the smash burger to be great as well. Throw in a few good beers and it was a great night.

Everyone here is very welcoming. Returned a few weeks later for a drink and experienced the same- laid back, industrial, cool vibes here. Food is pretty good with lots of different choices. The employees make it worth returning to!
