Who ever said that to eat vegan and earth friendly food you need to renounce the delicacies of traditional Italian cuisine?
Our Chef Alessandra D'Angelo moved to Australia from Sicily in 2009 and she has been working incessantly on vegetarian and vegan recipes since then.

At Funghi e Tartufo, she have turned plant-based food into something so delicious that you won't desire anything else!

In a converted 19th century warehouse in the heart of Melbourne CBD, Funghi e Tartufo – meaning Mushrooms and Truffle in honour of their signature dish – will offer you a unique experience leaving you breathless.

The inspiration is traditional Italian and the vision is a modern and earth friendly way to marry deliciousness with plant based food.

Beautiful place, delicious food, great staff and service. Great menu. Cocktails were nice but not the stars of the show-might go for wine or prosecco instead of cocktails next time. Food was so wonderful. The street it’s on can be a bit loud and there’s karaoke going on somewhere so keep that in mind if you’re looking for a quiet and cosy setting-still very lovely seating and ambience. Very welcoming as well. Will be back to try the rest of the menu over time. Maybe buy their cookbook/s as well.

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food was absolutely delicious and I love the lively atmosphere of the outside area in the laneway.

Went with my partner who's first language isn't English. Didn't tell her it was vegetarian food. She had the vegetarian swordfish and she thought it was real fish, and said it was great! Can't get better than that!

our experience exceeded expectations, my partner who is vegan was amazed and loved all her meals chosen. Staff and service was very good. Would highly recommend for that special celebration, you will not be disapointed.

Mind blowing, seriously tasty food and unlike any other plant based establishment in Melbourne. The staff were fabulous and we look forward to visiting next time we are in Melbourne.

Spent a wonderful Christmas Day with my family here. Food was delicious, service was attentive and the price was surprisingly low considering it was Christmas day. Will definitely dine here again.

Amazing plant based Italian food. So good to have such a nice restaurant all plant based. Great service and atmosphere in Hardware Lane. Fantastic desserts.

The service and the ambiance was fantastic. We ordered the gnocchi and the lasagna which were tasty and filling. We ordered mocktails to drink but it wasn’t the best value - too expensive for what we were getting. Overall a brilliant place and will come back again!
