About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Lively
  • Good for special occasions
Gateau Ghost's humble beginnings trace back to the pandemic when founder Jayden Park perfected his madeleines in his home kitchen. This is where crowd favourite Madeline flavours like Matcha-Pistachio, Biscoff, and Miso were first created.

Fast forward to 2024, and we've opened the first brick-and-mortar restaurant. The space is a 3-in-1 masterpiece: a bakery, a small storefront stocked with products from local businesses, and a bistro-style restaurant with an open kitchen.

We're serving coffee, pastries, brunch, lunch, and dinner from our location at College & Dovercourt in Toronto.

Our cafe is open 7:00 am - 7:00 pm.
Brunch waitlist available from 10:00am-3:30pm, Wednesday - Sunday.
Dinner reservations 6:00pm - late, Thursday - Saturday.

We accept reservations for our dinner service three weeks in advanced and require a credit card to book.

Entire party must be present to be seated.

The food was the star here. Unfortunately I wish there was more organization with hosting and service part of the experience. Guests were confused at the system upon arriving and they were running a bit behind so we were left standing there not knowing what was happening. Food was really great however, but the servers seemed be there to just serve the food and didn’t elevate that experience for us- which is tricky when you have to pay in full for the meal plus 20% grat to get a reso…. But all in all, well done chefs .

What an experience! We went for the special one-day collaboration and it did not disappoint! 8 courses and each plate was a great serving size. Food was delectable and the service was impeccable! I really must commend all the servers, they were attentive and had great timing with plating. Also a side note, they were running late so we were behind on being seated by about 30 minutes but GG staff happily offered us a round of drinks on the house. Classy stuff GG!! Can't wait to come back for brunch

ghostly pop up collab between Gateau Ghost/Jayden Park x Nick Iaboni The special menu was very creative and well curated to show both influences of asian and italian cuisine. While each dish was tasty - the tuna and the wagyu being the highlights - personally at our table, some dishes didn’t fully live up to the expectations set by the exciting concept. All the staff were welcoming and I appreciated that our server took the time to explain each course. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and the food was good. There’s room for refinement but I look forward to see if they’ll do more pop up collabs in the future.

Delicious! We had the brioche, french onion soup, shrimp cereal toast, steak & mochi potato. Each dish was 10/10. Great vibe too and not too loud so you can hold a conversation

Interesting concept, kimchi-french + other asian influences. Smaller menu, got the kimchi french onion soup and shrimp toast. Portions are on the smaller side, not the best value. Nice ambiance and friendly servers. Not sure dinner is their strongest offering but willing to go back for brunch

Super charming room, nice vibes, good attentive service. The shrimp toast was amazing as promised. All the apps were great. My only complainant was with the pour on the wine by the glass. It was wildly uneven as between glasses on the table with some getting pours that were like 3 sips. Laugh out loud little amounts. So I would suggest ordering a bottle.

The occasion was a cheeky little date, though I probably wouldn’t go there for a first date, as the space is small and intimate so you can hear everything. Reservations are 1.5 hours long for 2 people, so make sure to plan accordingly as they will ask you to leave at the 1.5 hour mark. We ordered the Korean Spicy Short Rib and the Steak & Mochi Pommes Dauphine. My date and I came in to try specific dishes and plan on returning to try more on the menu.
