Utilizing techniques inspired by classic culinary craftsmanship, Gather in downtown Berkeley features organic local produce, pizzas, sustainable seafood, and humanely-raised meats that showcase the unique abundance of Northern California. We have a balance menu of meat and vegetarian offerings, craft cocktails, and local, sustainable wines. The experience is served up in a warm ambiance informed by honey hued reclaimed woods literally “gathered” from the surrounding area. Directly across from the UC campus, it is conveniently located with parking lot beneath the restaurant just 5 minutes from Zellerbach Hall and Berkeley Rep.

Great place to eat close to Cal campus on Berkeley. The squid was great, flank steak and quinoa bowl was tasty.

A great choice for casual dining in a large space that feels comfortable. Our waitress was terrific, the food very good. I had soup and salad, both very good. A glass of wine, however, is VERY expensive so note that when you order.

Lovely restaurant with very friendly vibe. The enclosed garden room is really charming. All 4 of us loved our dinner ! The roast chicken was great as was the cesear salad. The white pizza with squash was so delicious we ordered a second one! The cocktails were creative and very good. The service was excellent and our server was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend- also this restaurant is walking distance to Berkeley Rep and Freight and Salvage.

For a busy night it seemed understaffed. The hard working staff seemed overwhelmed at times with a consequent round of delays.

Our server was particularly charming and helpful. The pizza was fantastic (and my dining partner was from Paris and thought so too). My only criticism is the music was a little too loud. Love Gather. We always go back.
